Lexie felt herself relax a bit as she smiled in return. “Nice to meet  you too. So what did you do before getting dragged in here, if you don’t mind me asking?”

✴︎ — “ I’m a musician. I’m the violinist and tambourine player for STARLIGHT|MOONSHINE. We’re a symphonic metal band. The only thing I’m not allowed to do is sing. How about you ? ”

"Ah, I was a dance teacher," Alexa said, rubbing her arm and looking around, tilting her head as a thought occurred to her. "You think I could maybe open a dance studio here?" She wasn’t quite ready to admit just how much she missed it, but that was probably close enough.

Krystal was still getting used to being trapped in a town like this,she was so used to being free and able to travel. The blonde fae sighed as she sat in a tree,watching everybody passing by while she played with the leaves and the blossoms in the tree,letting them bloom in her fingers. She had been so lost in her thoughts that only the sound of somebody coughing. “This may look quite odd to you right?”

“Actually no, it’s pretty cool,” Lexie said as she watched from where she was standing. “Literally cooler than what I can do.”

Lexie nodded slowly glancing down at the ground for a moment before looking back up at the other woman. “Well, I guess if I’m stuck here for the foreseeable future, I may as well try to make friends,” she said with a small half smile “I’m Lexie, and you are?”

✴︎ — Lydia smiled, nodding, “ yes, I suppose we ought to just make the best out of the situation. I’m Lydia. It’s nice to meet you, Lexie. ”

“I will, thanks,” she said with a nod, letting out a soft breath. “Anyway, I’m Lexie, and you are?”

Figure I might as well try to make friends here if I’m stuck here for the foreseeable future, right?

Marshall’s upper lip curled slightly. “Is that your real name?” He asks curiously, though it sounded much more rude than meant really. “Marshall Chamberlain.” The vampire held out his hand to her. 

"Short for Alexa actually," she explained, shaking his hand. "It's very nice to meet you, and if you don't mind me asking, what did you do before you got dragged in here?"

Lexie looked up and blinked, blushing when she realized she’d been overheard. “I know, I’ll get used to it eventually,” she said with a small shrug. “I just…would have liked a little warning, y'know?” Sighing softly, she rubbed the back of her neck. “Sorry.”

✴︎ — Lydia shook her head, “  I somehow doubt any of us will get completely used to being here, ” she sighed, fingers running through dark hair. “ Warning, to be left alone, we never seem to win. ”

Lexie turned around and pinned the man who spoke with a glare. “Well I’m sorry I didn’t want to be dragged into this crap,” she shot back, hands on her hips. “They could have given a little warning, maybe I would have handled it better if they had.”

“I’m pretty sure no one got warning. My brother and I were thrown here together. No one one knows what’s going on.” Marshall shrugs and takes a sip from his mug. “Just keep an ear open for what’s going on with that barrier.”

Lexie was pouting as she walked along the sidewalk after being dropped off. It had taken every ounce of willpower she had not to set them on fire, and she was not in a good mood.

Pausing at the corner, she looked around with a soft sigh. “I just want to go home….” she mumbled.

Marshall rounded the corner with a coffee mug filled with anything but coffee and nearly ran into the pouting girl. Not like he was looking for anyone anyways. “Ah- shit.” He says while backing up. “Don’t get all down on me, love, I don’t wanna be trapped for whatever reason with a moping lot of you.”

Lexie turned around and pinned the man who spoke with a glare. "Well I'm sorry I didn't want to be dragged into this crap," she shot back, hands on her hips. "They could have given a little warning, maybe I would have handled it better if they had."

✴︎ — “ Yes, well, we don’t always get what we want, do we ? ” Lydia spoke as someone stopped at the corner she’d been turning around. But despite her words, she wanted to leave as well. She missed her brothers and her nephew and nieces. “ It’s an unfortunate situation we seem to have found ourselves in. ”
