News Story from: http://uk.eonline.com/news/590907/learn-the-harrowing-tale-of-edward-mordrake-on-american-horror-story-freak-show
American Horror Story: Freak Show is getting even scarier. Yes, that's possible! Just thank Edward Mordrake. Move over, Twisty!
Freak Show's two-part Halloween episode features Hunger Games veteran Wes Bentley as the legendary Edward Mordrake, a man with two faces, the one on the back of his head is demonic, naturally. We'll let Ethel (Kathy Bates), the bearded lady, explain the legend of Edward Mordrake in the exclusive clip above. She does it way better than we could. It must be that accent.
Both episodes—"Edward Mordrake Part 1" and "Edward Mordrake Part 2"—feature the music of Pere Ubu. The band has provided the character with his own theme in the form of "Road to Utah." Their song "Carnival" is also the theme music for Twisty the Clown, so you've probably heard it again in your nightmares. Both songs are on the album Carnival of Souls, in stores now. Scott & Charlene’s Wedding
New album ‘Any Port in a Storm’ due out on Fire Records 22 July
UK Summer Tour Announced
Listen to “Fakin’ NYC” here! (Premiered over on Spin)
https://soundcloud.com/firerecords/sacw-fakin-nyc
The impeccably named Scott & Charlene’s Wedding are back with not so much a brand new album, as a generation’s glimpse of love, home-sickness, basketball, alienation, rock and roll and all things that matter to an expatriate Aussie stranded in New York, to be released on Fire Records in July. Any Port In A Storm is fated to become your essential backdrop to the summer of 2013. The brainchild of the amiable and unashamedly charismatic Craig Dermody, Scott & Charlene’s Wedding offer a sonically charged take on the Lemonheads’ ramshackle melodicism and Pavement’s lo-fi drawl.
Craig Dermody and pals will be hitting the road in the UK and Europe with a ridiculous amount of shows in England including a slot at Glastonbury, the Yes Way Festival and East End Live, a headline show at the Victoria in Dalston (promoted by Upset the Rhythm) and a whole host of classic instores at likely and unlikely venues, including Flashback in London, a yoghurt shop, a pie shop and Urban Outfitters in York. You should definitely take the opportunity to catch them while you can! Dates below. Scott & Charene’s Wedding

New Critical Heights signings Honeyslide are set to release the follow up to their sold-out debut cassette the Honeyslide EP with a double A side 10” featuring two lead tracks “Drippin’” and “Deep Architecture”, plus two further tracks “Sugar Routine” (which you can listen to here: https://soundcloud.com/criticalheights/honeyslide-sugar-routine) and “Untitled #240”. Swathed in reverb, bathed in noise and drowned in dreamy vocals, Honeyslide blend the experimental with the melodic to provide thrillingly provocative sounds.
The 10” captures a specific moment in time in the history of Honeyslide, with a cross section of work from the end of 2012, less than a year after the recording and release of their debut EP. The new record features a track from their debut, the first song they ever wrote, “Drippin’”, which has been lovingly remastered. The rest of the tracks represent the progress of an adolescent band as they grapple with discovering their true sound, whilst having a hell of a time along the way.
Even the artwork comments on the continuously evolving nature of the band, featuring the original Honeyslide EP artwork defaced with splattered paint, virtually obscuring the image. The band are saying goodbye to the old version of Honeyslide as they hurtle onwards creatively, constantly evolving, continually changing and poised to become something utterly spectacular.
Based in London, Honeyslide comprises the core trio of Josh (guitar), Mo (guitar/vocals) and Meytal (bass/vocals). Their live shows are intense and brutally loud, having shared the stage with bands such as Swedish punks Holograms, Dignan Porch and Yuck’s bassists side project Parakeet. The band will be playing a lot more in 2013, keep your ears peeled.
“Honeyslide make sluggish lullaby grunge, the shoulder‐shrugging melodic entreaties carried on waves of anesthetized guitar crunch” – Don’t Die Wondering
“The entrancing five minute track is dribbling with romantic sludge.” ‐ Sexbeat

In just two short years Critical Heights have built up an enviably diverse roster of the most innovative and creative artists from all over the world including Keel Her, Scott & Charlene’s Wedding, DIVA, Dead Rat Orchestra, Savaging Spires, Greg Boring and Scraps. With an exciting vision for future as well as a new regular show on NTS Radio, Critical Heights are throwing a party to celebrate their first two years and to welcome two fantastic new London-based bands to the roster, the atmospheric Honeyslide and the enchanting Virginia Wing, plus other special guests!
HONEYSLIDE
Based in London, the band features the core trio of Josh (guitar), Mo (guitar/vocals) and Meytal (bass/vocals) who combine warm distorted guitars, complex hooks and captivating melodies swathed in reverb to create piercing sonic landscapes. Draped in luscious boy/girl vocals, their sound wavers between an ethereal echo and a discordant slacker-inspired drone.
With a sound remeniscent of Galaxy 500, The Jesus and Mary Chain and This Mortal Coil, Honeyslide are a young band brimming with potential, taking the influence from guitar‐heavy bands of the past to create a fresh new sound for the future. Their debut 10” single is due out on Critical Heights in May.

VIRGINIA WING
With a knack of making their songs sound like essential forgotten classics, London quartet Virginia Wing create thrillingly crafted pop tunes that exist within that time honoured dialogue between the popular and the avant-garde. Their sound veers from the minimalist post punk of Young Marble Giants, to the twisted 60s psych bliss of Arthur Lee and Love and the Radiophonic Workshop inspired cinematic krautpop of Broadcast. Their debut single “Red Sails” is due to be released via Critical Heights on 6 May.
Blank Realm’s ‘Go Easy’ given 4/5 by The Guardian! “…balancing the arty with the party beautifully to make for a set of danceable, hook-filled songs that bubble and bloom with an almost biological rampancy, shooting out tendrils of strange, snaking melody in every direction like vines enveloping a ruin.”

4 stars for Scott & Charlene’s Wedding ‘Two Weeks’ EP in @theskinnymag !
