Hong Kong, China.
Once every few years, Feitan will get a summon. A gathering he will have to attend no matter where he is at the time. People call them many things, but most prominently though, they’re known as Phantom Trope. A group of thieves. They steal, and their aim is always anything but money. This group consisting of individual beings from the very start. Most occasions when their leader issue a gathering to discuss the next mission, is the only times they spend times together.
It starts when Hisoka opens his mouth.
“You’re unusually tardy,” he says, passing through. This conversation will undoubtedly lead somewhere, knowing his trait.
“Hn…” is Feitan’s chosen response. He hasn’t the time to burden himself with Hisoka’s presence. Not ever, unless it’s an order.
“Where have you been?”
“Places.”
“I hear you grow so fond of Europe. Like... France. Lyon, perhaps...”
It hits the mark, though it doesn’t change Fei’s standing. He doesn’t take the trouble to look back. “So why bother asking?”
“To get a rise out of you.”
He bears no love for Hisoka. None. Even should death take a liking to this man, not a care nor any form of emotion will be spared for the likes of this… anomaly of nature. Sure enough, some of the members share that feeling, if not all. Hisoka is but a replacement of the limb they had lost. Nothing more.
The clown doesn’t stop there, though. It’s almost laughable to think otherwise.
“Too bad you didn’t bring it here,” Hisoka continues, “that stray you picked up.”
The echoes of his footsteps cease. They both fall silent. Feitan more so than Hisoka, whose grin signifies other’s misfortune. Oh, how he loves to rip it off that face.
Despite having no intention to start a quarrel, the demon’s mouth runs on its own, “I don’t appreciate being spied on.”
And with that he steps away from the scene to leave Hisoka to his own device. Feitan can still hear the eerie chuckle slipping freely from his mouth, along with those prominent eyes scarring his unguarded back.
“But that’s just it,” the voice is low enough for only Feitan to catch, “It wasn’t you I was interested in.”
