First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!

Second, I did not expect the feedback I got. Honestly, I was merely peeved at the whole “must be active or you’ll have the URL yanked away” thing.

That said, it could be nice to come back, albeit in a smaller way. Part of the reason I stopped coming on Tumblr is that I’d spend all day reading and reblogging posts, until my own stuff became scarcer as I dedicated less time to it (and then there was uni in the middle). I might even go back at drawing more regularly, now that I’ve gotten a XP-Pen Artist 12 tablet for Christmas - I had grown to absolutely hate inking pictures with the mouse. I’ll have to learn using it first though.

So, I may post older art in the following days, or wait some more before I give this account a second try. We’ll see, I guess.

EDIT: Yeah, never mind. I’m sorry for letting you down.

Secret Cosplay #1 Reveal!

I did Esmeralda from Disney’s version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame! This is my first Disney cosplay, as I started gathering materials for it earlier last year (even before Kida). Esmeralda is one of my favorite Disney ladies and THoND is one of my favorite literary works, so of course I had to do this! So happy that everything turned out so well, especially my wig (my first successful attempt at wig styling and I think I did a pretty rockin’ job!).

I’ll take some close-up shots of my costume if anyone is interested. For the time being, I need to find a pygmy goat to cosplay as Djali. >:3

PTSD isn’t just flashbacks. while a lot of movies, books, games etc equate post traumatic stress disorder to having extremely vivid flashbacks in which one thinks the trauma is happening again, this is not the only symptom of PTSD, nor is it a requirement for having the disorder.

other symptoms of PTSD include

problems sleeping

nightmares

hypervigilance (constantly checking surroundings for safety, looking for any possible threat)

being easily startled

being emotionally numb or not experiencing joy

seeing the world as a terrible place

memory loss

trouble relating to others

physiological or strong emotional reactions to reminders of trauma

intrusive thoughts about the trauma

flashbacks are not the be all and end all of PTSD. it’s a much more complex disorder than it’s portrayed in a lot of media, nor is it military exclusive. i hope this post can at least help educate some people beyond the incomplete and in some cases outright wrong information that a lot of people have.
