"Hey, Tsubasa, you've been quiet lately. What gives?" Maki found the lack of contact between her group and A-RISE unusual, considering there had been so much before. (( I'll be replying from first-year-maki, but I can't send from there because it's a side blog, oops! ))

“Ah! Maki-san! It has been a while, am I right?” The brunette was actually happy to see that one of the u’s members didn’t forget about them, so that made her to smile slightly. “We’ve been a bit busy. We need to study too after all.”

“Boring, uh? I’m glad to know that things are still the same, though, even if it can get boring.” The A-RISE leader admired all the member of u’s after all, so they weren’t bad news for her. “You were looking for me because of boredom then? What about we change that by going out?”

“That’s fine by me. Where to, though?” Maki had to admit, she respected A-RISE, their leader especially so. And, well, she liked to believe she was a well-mannered girl, and having no prior arrangements, she wasn’t going to turn the other’s offer down.

“Well, studying makes sense. Nothing has changed over here, everyone is still themselves.” The pianist gave a quiet sigh before her next statement. “It’s just as boring as ever!”

"You’ve been glued to the couch for 3 days, Maki-chan. I’m worried about you." - Nozomi (College/grown-up AUs? or anything! whatever works!)

“Three days isn’t a long time, Nozomi. I’m just beat, is all!” Maki was sure she was perfectly fine, but honestly, when did Maki ever know much about herself?

         “But what’s wrong with caring too much, Maki-chan?” It was better than caring too little and turning a blind eye to the struggles of one’s loved ones. Maki was being exceptionally difficult today…in fact, that probably meant she was more troubled than usual.

         “And if you’re feeling tired and stressed, then what you need to do is have someone to spill your problems to. Keeping it in isn’t good, Maki-chan, you know that!” She was tempted to add, you’re in college now, you have to get serious, but figured not to. It was easier to get used to Maki’s personality instead of trying to change it.

“The problem with caring too much is that...” Maki stopped mid-sentence, not out of holding back, but simply from not knowing what she was going to say. She took perhaps a moment too long to finish her sentence with “is that you forget to care about yourself!”. It was more of a cop-out answer - she knew very well that Nozomi always balanced her time to care for herself, but she said so anyway.

A long, drawn out sigh escaped her lips when she decided to confront Nozomi with her troubles. “Okay, here’s the deal. I’ve been thinking, what happens to me if I don’t find a job in medicine after all of this? It was a problem I had back in high school, so I planned out my options carefully.” Maki stood up, walking over to a draw and pulling out a folder. “So, I applied for a music course, too. I haven’t told anyone this yet, so keep it quiet, okay?” She gave the folder she had just retrieved to Nozomi. “It’s my coursework for this course. Anyway, enough about me, how are you holding up?” She might have explained her problems, but that never meant she could run away from them when she was done.

“And even if you weren’t hiding anything, vanishing from the world and being stuck to the couch for a few days isn’t something people would do for fun, Maki-chan. So what is it?”

“I’m exhausted. I’ve let everything get on top of me and  I just need some time to cool off and rest, that’s all. It isn’t anything major, Nozomi.” She replied, a sigh escaping her lips. “Honestly, you care too much!”

She didn’t mind Nozomi caring for her, if all truths were to be told. She just wouldn’t let it be known. Honestly, would she ever mature?
