First Issue - Battle Showcase
Well, after a bit I can show off some of the battle mechanics. I'm really working on fine tuning stuff right now, I've been inspired by the many great RPGMaker devs on this site to try and make this project feel more satisfying.
Anyways, the battle scene! In all it's glory!
And the Roaring Knight, as it turns out
I use them as a testing parry dummy, this was also used for the player QTE way back when before we have all of our fancy animations you see here.
There's a lot of other moves to show off, but you'll have to play the game to see most of those (Alongside the fire VFX not being colored on them yet lmao)
For actual enemies, here was the first sketches of the grunts for the prison:
...But these all felt very generic. Except for the far right lady, who actually became a boss in her own right!
She looks roughly like that now, although her hair became blue somewhere in the concept art to pixel art process.
The grunts became these little freaks. A redhead in a jumpsuit in prison??? Where have I heard that one before...
Anyways, next time I hope to have some of these characters actually animated *gasp* and in engine!
