" Yes, but she also has a funny story because of that independence and wanting to do it herself. "he said with a chuckle. He smiled when she kissed his cheek. Of course, the little action had the man smiling like a loon. Someone who was head over heels with his fiance; everything always made him just get that goofy grin on his face. He took her hand even though they were just going out to the car, just wanting to hold it. Once they were in, he helped her in and then started the drive to the doctor.
She'd never get tired of him simply just wanting to hold her hand, even on a short walk to the car. Something about it always put a smile on her face, made her feel safe. How could she not enjoy that? It didn't take long to get to the car and she thanked David for his help. Making sure her seatbelt was both protective and comfortable around her belly, she was soon satisfied. "You think we're close to finding out what we're having?" she asked after he'd started driving.
David couldn't help smiling a little remembering his ex having the same issue when she'd been pregnant with their daughter. " Sit down. I'll tie them for you," he said as she descended the stairs. Taking her hand, he led her to the living room so he could put her shoes on. " You should ask Maria next time you talk to her about the time she wouldn't let me tie her shoes when she was pregnant." he said, making sure to not tie her shoes too tightly just in case they bothered her feet." All set," he said struggling to stand for a moment on his own before offering his hand to help her stand as well.
Fiercely independent, it was no surprise that being unable to tie her own shoes left her momentarily grouchy. As she moved to sit on the couch, she laughed lightly at her fiancé's words. "Did she hate it just as much as I do right now?" she shook her head. After he'd finished tying her shoes, she accepted his help to stand up again. Lord knew that being halfway through her pregnancy, that was a struggle. "Thank you," she told him, leaning in to kiss his cheek. "I'm ready now."
David would be lying if he said he wasn't excited about the ultrasound visits. It was just another way for him to bond with the baby before he or she came. David lowkey wanted a boy just because they already had Finlay, but at the end of the day, he just wanted a happy healthy baby as well.
" You ready?" he double-checked with his fiance, knowing that morning sickness had its time when it was bothering her. He just didn't want her to feel bad or anything. They'd get to the appointment when they got there. Her comfort was his main priority anyway. As it always was. He grabbed some things that they knew they needed, putting them in the car before he made the way back into the house to wait for McKenzie.

Midway into her second trimester, things tended to vary day by day. For the most part, morning sickness didn't bug her as much - though McKenzie was often afraid of jinxing that. Since she'd officially hit twenty weeks, she'd sort of popped. More than she was expecting to. From speaking with her sister in law and even David's ex wife, that was 50/50 for first time mothers. But, with her belly growing as much as it had, her clothes just weren't fitting right. She handled it with grace as best as she could - a huge thanks to Sydney who'd designed some maternity Jaunty pieces just for her.
Still, she simply wasn't thrilled to be getting dressed for her ultrasound appointment. She'd settled on a comfy pair of maternity pants and a t-shirt she stole from her fiancé. That was fine, that was all well and good. But, once she'd realized the difficulty tying her own shoes? Uh oh. Stomping down the stairs from their bedroom, she just pouted when she came face to face with David. "I can't tie my own shoes," she grumbled.

Absolutely did. To be fair, I'm in my second trimester so it's just heightened his worrying in general. But, he takes such good care of me.

It's fully understandable. Yes! Fortunately, Collison was pre-taped on Thursday. So, I've got him with me all weekend.
