“Nice meeting you by the way. Is there anything else?”
"Not yet, but if it's not too much trouble, could you please meet me at the Denebola Inn tomorrow so I can send a reply back with you?"
+ firstsonofatomais
“Oh yeah! I’m delivering a letter. So…here ya go.”
"Ah, for me? Thank you..." He tucked the letter in his pocket to read later.

“Oh yeah. I’m Karol.”
"It's nice to meet you! So, what kind of mission are you on? Can I be of service?"
+ firstsonofatomais
“Not the same Rasun whose related to Raven, right?”
"That's me, yes. Raven's my brother. Are you a friend of his?"

“Oh me? Well I’m on a mission. I’m Karol by the way.”
"What sort of mission? Ah, my name's Rasun."

"Hello!"
"Hello there! What brings you to Halure?"
How are you still alive? Was the first obvious question but he was aware that he had a similar one to answer. It’s been more than ten years since they’ve seen each other, not since he had been kicked out/run away. Entire lifetimes ago. Despite the familiarity it was like talking to a stranger.
"Thanks. The name’s a long story…but I’ve been doing well. Did anyone else make it out?" If Rasun had survived, what if—?
His smile faltered, morphing into a wince. "As far as I know, no one else survived. I'm not even entirely sure what happened... I was lucky enough to have been out of town for the week... I've been living here in Halure ever since. Ah, if you have the time, my house is just up ahead; you're welcome to come visit." He gestured behind him, towards a house with a green roof.
With the name, the other’s face snapped into place. It’s aged over the last decade, but it was unmistakably Rasun. He could see the recognition in the other’s green eyes, but the other doesn’t seemed to have figured out who he is. It’s been a long ten years, and the noble boy Damuron had become a very different man.
"Brother, it’s me.”
"I know." He smiled as he put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "I just thought you'd rather be called Raven, since that's what you said your name was..." Scruffy though he may be, Damuron wasn't unrecognizable.
"So... how have you been?" Much as he wanted to hug his brother and hear all about where he'd been for the past decade, he didn't dare act so familiarly yet. It was enough just to see that Damuron was alive.
She stared at him for a moment and sighed slightly. Maybe he was right, but she still felt like a burden most times. Ever since she had been revived or whatever, she hadn’t exactly been the same. Something just felt… off. But still. She nodded and shrugged her shoulders slightly. “Maybe? Like I said, I’m just not really sure what to do right now.”
"Well, if you ever feel like it, you're always welcome to stop by." Though she probably had better things to do, better friends to be seeing... No, he needed to stop thinking like that. He could fret about being a terrible relative later, once he'd resolved things with Airey.
He pulled her into what he hoped was a comforting hug. "Whatever you decide to do... you'll never be a burden to me."
It almost slipped by him, as if there was a delay between hearing and processing the name. “I’m Raven, it’s nice ta— Rasun Atomais!?" He echoed incredulously.
"Y-Yes?" The name Raven was foreign to him, but Raven obviously recognized his name. Could he be another survivor of Pharihyde? Or even...? He scrutinized the other's face, mentally comparing it to the portrait he'd treasured for all these years. Take away the stubble, remove a few wrinkles... But the name he'd been given was Raven, so that must be what he preferred to be called.
"It's, ah, nice to meet you, Raven."
"…maybe… but he’s not Locke… he’s not my dad. He told my dad that he would take care of me… but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he cares." she sighed slightly. "Maybe…? I’m just sick of being useless and a burden to people…" she sighed again. "…would he even see the note if I left one…"
"You're not a burden, Airey," he mumbled as he put a hand on her shoulder. "I told myself I would take care of you, and even if I haven't been doing the best job of that... You haven't visited Halure in a while; maybe that would be enough of a change of pace for you?" Biased as he may be, he couldn't fathom anyone not caring for Airey.
"Huh… maybe…" Airey said softly. "Not too sure why he would care, though." she sighed slightly. "I mean, I know he cares, but he also has that guild he runs as well, so he’s always busy…" she shifted slightly, not sure what else to do. It wouldn’t exactly matter if she left without saying a word, would it?
"Just because he's busy, doesn't mean he won't notice you disappearing, if he cares about you." And if guilds in Pharos were anything like what he knew of the Union, then one's guild was one's family. "Giving him some notice would mean one less thing for him to worry about."
"Gideon is the guild master for Inauras, the place where I’ve been staying while on Pharos." Airey said quietly. "He… he was also one of Locke’s best friends… and apparently Locke asked Gideon to more or less watch over me and make sure I was ok… right before he died." Airey sighed slightly. "So, he’s kinda like my impromptu guardian of sorts…."
"In that case, I really do think you should let him know you're leaving somehow. Whether or not you listen to me is ultimately up to you, but..." But I'd prefer it if you did, he left unsaid. He had no other argument to make, and he honestly wasn't expecting her to take his words to heart.
Raven pressed the glasses case into the other’s hands, blinking as a weird feeling of familiarity came over him.
"No problem, though do be a little more careful next time…say, have we met before?"
"Maybe? I'm not sure," he said as he slipped the case back into his coat pocket. The other man did look familiar, but something was off. Rasun didn't think he'd yet made any friends that were quite so... scruffy. "Well, if we haven't, my name's Rasun. Rasun Atomais. And you are?"
Airey merely stared at Rasun for a moment before shifting slightly from foot to foot. How many times was she going to hear it was nothing? She had been around far too many people that used that in order to try and change the subject. And considering the people she was friends with, this was not new territory. She placed her hands behind her back and watched him. “Late nights, huh?” she asked lightly. “Is that true? Or is something else going on?”
"It's... not technically a lie..." He'd never get her to tell him anything if he couldn't do the same, right? Even if Abigail had been having trouble sleeping. "I... I may not know the full extent of your relationship with Gideon, but I'd be worried sick if you left without a word..." Again.
