mudwing doodle because ive been struggling to get them quite right ...

i think i figured it out!!

some references i vaguely used to help me figure out a realistic approach to getting the head shape right

in order: postosuchus skull, revueltosaurus skull, revueltosaurus reconstruction, chelandina skull

i used ancient distant relatives of crocodilians as well as a wide-skulled gorgonopsid since that group of animals has the rectangular skull shape closest to the MudWings

and the crocodylomorph references were because of the alligator/crocodilian influence that MudWings have

To say that “gender is made up therefore it doesn’t matter” is extremely dismissive toward transgender people who have distinct experiences regarding their genders.

Like yeah sure gender is a social construct that people made up, but we are affected by social constructs in so many aspects of our lives because we are social animals that live in social groups so to dismiss transgender peoples identity because of that is downright ignorant and you need to do better.

NightWing with some sort of mutation of the power that has them see flashes of the past rather than the future

OOH it could be set in a mystery plot and the character gets out of context flashbacks that they need to piece together to solve the mystery! It could be used as a way to give the reader multiple red herrings I love this

I think I feel happiest with my art when I let myself let go of my “rules” and just put some shit down and shape it. I love my sketchier artworks because they give me a bit of freedom that my more finished drawings don’t. They give me room to explore and actually enjoy the entire process.

I worry that I’m the only one who sees them for what they provide to me as an artist and not what their potential could be

I guess I’ll start posting my sketches more often and stop caring so much about what other people might think of them.
