lana wilson describing miss americana as “looking at the flip side of being america’s sweetheart” is so interesting to me because we’ve talked about how taylor, for over a decade was forced to be this prim, proper, and polite girl from the south and how the title is going against that but the fact that the content in the film is going to directly address that is a feminist move in and of itself theyre essential dismantling the labels and boxes society puts on women and showing all the messiness and overthinking and hardships women endure and its going to be so powerful
