Chapter XI // Afternoon

Rain is new in town, he meets the barista from the coffee shop, things happen.

After they closed the cafe for the day, Mountain waved Dew goodbye and signalled for Rain to sit with him at a table.

Rain did so and waited for Mountain to speak up. —So, I'm glad you decided to stay, Rain, but I need to know if you plan on only working here until the library is open again.

Rain thought about it for a second, now was a good time to leave his job at the library if he wanted to, and he preferred the cafe quite a bit. —I think I'll stay.

—How long do you want to work here, then? I'm only asking for organisation really.

—For as long as you'll have me.— Answered Rain.

Mountain smiled, it was rare for him to do so, so Rain knew it was genuine. He then decided to also clear things up between them, now that they were talking. —Uhm, about that day two weeks ago…

Mountain perked up at his words —I didn't overstep, did I?

Rain shook his head —No, no. I… I wanted- want it. But we need to clear things up, I need to know if it was only a one time thing or not.

Mountain let out a sigh of relief. —I don't want it to be a one time thing, really. I want to be with you if you want me.

Rain smiled —Yes, I do want you.

Mountain checked the clock —Do you want to go out tonight? I can pick you up at eight if you give me your address. I know a restaurant in town that's pretty nice.

Rain wrote his address down on a napkin next to him and handed it to Mountain —I'll see you at eight, then.

Chapter X // Second First Day

Rain is new in town, he meets the barista from the coffee shop, things happen.

Rain came out of the backroom with his apron on and walked to the counter where Dew was standing. Mountain had gone to the back of the shop to bake products for the day. Dew was cleaning out the displays and arranging them.

—So,— Dew began, —You've been helping out?— Rain nodded —It's nice to have someone new around. And someone to talk to.

—Yeah, plus it will be easier with two of us out here. — Said Rain as he started cleaning the tables.

Dew stayed quiet for a few seconds, thinking, then spoke up —How has it gone with Mountain these past days?— Rain stayed quiet for a second. He didn't want to expose Mountain like that, so he decided to not tell Dew about the kiss. He was also still pretty confused about it all.

—Well, he's nice, a bit quiet, like me. We get along well.— Said Rain, but the look that Dew gave him told Rain that he didn't buy it.

They both went on with the day.
