āYeah⦠I also just really like saying āHermesā,ā Hong Kong snorted, shoving his hands into his pockets as they made their way through the mall. He caught quick glimpses of the Christmas displays he helped develop, particularly proud of the owl-like snowmen creatures that served as the mallās overall theme. However, he looked up at his older brother when they took a deliberate wrong turn, wondering if Macau wanted to visit another store first.
Confused as to why theyād ended up in front of a Shiseido (āAre you out of moisturiser Houhou?ā), Siu-chun simply shrugged and took a seat on an available bench, automatically pulling out his phone. A faint blush appeared on his cheeks as Hou Fai spoke, asking him the questions he never thought to ask himself, mostly because he didnāt want to admit to the answers. He pouted, not out of annoyance, but rather from how difficult it was for him to answer such a simple question. It should have been easy, and yet it wasnātā¦and that was frustrating.
āI guess I justā¦want to see him happy,ā Hong Kong said quietly, after a long stretch of silence. āAnd I want him to like me. But like, I dunno if he likes me me, or just what he thinks I am and expects me to be, so⦠I mean, even if he doesnāt, at least heāll have a lot of nice things in exchange for dealing with me?ā he finished weakly, not really sure where his thought process was even going.
Macau took his time to listen to his brotherās words, just a few seconds, he wasnāt trying to irritate the other after all. He stared and the store and he seemed focused on the people entering and leaving. Ā One could say that -maybe- he was eavesdropping on the chattering from around but his mind was actually miles away, back to many, many, years ago, and the things that had changed. Ā
He glanced back to Siu-chun, brows slightly furrowed, however there was no pity, but softness on his expression; the face of someone who was worried. He smiled softly, āI seeā¦ā but how could he even try to find the right words? He knew about his brotherās insecurities; he knew about the fragility of his soul and heart. And just as well, he knew the teen was now facing a new stage in his life and -naturally- feeling more nervous and insecure was even, something it could happen.
Something naturally human after all.
His voice was soft, meant to calm and recomforting. āTo be fairā¦I donāt think he sees the time spent with you as ādealing with you.' The both of you put forth effort to be with each other, and the mere fact he is so bad at receiving gifts itās a proof, if you want to see it that wayā¦ā Hou Fai rested his weight on his palms, staring at the decorations around them; huge ornaments and lights everywhere in sight.
āSay⦠do you enjoy yourself when youāre with him?ā
His gaze was set on Hong Kong again āYou said you want to see him happy⦠and, answer this to yourself, not me. You donāt have to tell me⦠ but, are you in love?ā Ā Ā
