I’ve had some people ask me about where I am now and I would like to say THANKS!
I am flattered you wish to keep going with Jan and his nutty adventures!
I had five glorious years and over 1100 followers. I’ve had my RPs made into art, praise beyond compare, hailed and complimented anonymously and not. I’ve had people so emotionally invested in my RPs they ranted and cried about it like a damn soap opera on their personal blogs. I’ve had complete strangers defend my muse and I’ve had Dutch people think I am either Dutch or offer out the goodness of their hearts to help me. I have been very lucky! And I continue that streak in my indie and I am thankful.
It is with deep regret I must resign from Glee Club...
Okee, it is not Glee Club, but I am here to say that I must step aside and step down as both mod and as Netherlands.
I blab a lot here, so naturally, a cut...
It has been a crazy five years that I have been running both as mod and as your local Ned mun. When I joined this ring, I was suppose to be taking it easy and just simply role-play, taking on an adviser role to the former mod but as circumstances would have it (and I should have seen it coming...), I assumed control of this place.
With a lot of consideration, this ring will be left in the very capable and active hands of Jess, your local Hong Kong mun. I trust she will do a fabulous job!
Real life digs into me, and I am worn thin for reasons I won’t go into great detail but it deals with my special needs child and how I need to help as conventional schools are failing her and me both. I must step up!
Which means, I must step down. I knew this time would come for a while now, however, recent events have accelerated this cause.
Thank you for all the years here as Netherlands, at both EuroHetalia and here. I love him something terrible and I will miss you all! Some of you have been with me since the beginning- Sine, Oliver, Ronnie, wow, since 2012! How did you put up with me for so long?
I have a low-functioning indie that will also have to go on hiatus for a bit but as many of you know, indies operate under such different conditions than a ring-bound blog. More likely than not, it will be a Ned appreciation blog more than anything. Maybe I’ll even see some of you on that side of the coin!
Thank you for all the great memories! I will miss you all!
leo is a continuous eruption of exuberance… kind of like how the earth blooms beautiful rainbow flowers because it can, to play. an illuminated leo has the universe moving straight through them, emanating a release of divine bliss into every aspect of creative expression. leos don’t have their heads in the clouds or on earth. they dwell in the light of the sun, moving like dancing dust in the afterglow
Taiwan watched him, giggling. Just as always, isn’t he? She helped out with giving people sparklers. Once everyone was settled, she noticed Netherlands, standing all on his own. She saw her brother with his boyfriend, and everyone together.. Hm..
Thanks to her small stature, she made it back to him, and gently bumped his elbow to get his attention. She took out a lighter and lit his sparkler, before lighting his. She looked back to everyone counting down, and chuckled.
Once it came to zero, she exclaimed with everyone, lifting her pretty sparkler up. The fireworks lit up the sky around them in a moment, and she turned to look at him, giving him a bright smile.
“Happy new year, Jan~!”
That small nudge shook Jan out of his deep thoughts, the chant of the countdown like molasses in his head. The sounds around him, once again sharp, his sparkler much alive and bouncing with fizzle as he peered down to look at a smiling Hui Fang.
“Happy New Year, Hui Fang,” the Dutchman replied, leaning in for a kiss to her cheek.
It was certainly a different way to start 2017.
“My apologies, but now that I’ve seen the year arrive, I think I’ll turn in for the night. My hotel is not far. Thanks for having me, it’s been the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” Jan needed that time to process the events of the evening, perhaps take some time for himself. He was already overdue.
Njáll nodded; Jan was only right about that matter. Best not to think about it.
Suddenly seeing the Dutchman act a little embarrassed by the compliment, the pale teenager couldn’t really help the small smile that seemed to be lingering on his lips for longer than he could notice.
“Jú, everyone can probably do it… But you’re all individuals, so it’s different from person to person.” He wasn’t going to deny that the three mentioned nations weren’t good-looking; because they were. He envied those as well.
“I know. If you didn’t like it, you would have told me to stop with it already. I know you don’t take any skít from anyone.” The young Nordic shrugged faintly, wrapping his arms around himself, “Not even from a baby nation, such as myself.”
Jan hummed in response, agreeing as he got back up for a drink of water for himself. Everyone had their own strengths ad how much they were willing to push themselves, and sometimes it was just plain ol’ genetics at play.
“True, but I hardly consider it annoying. Quite the contrary.”
Jan was not sure how good of a host he would be able to play this evening as his mind was swirling with recent events of his own life-how much had changed since he had seen the Icelander at that pie party. His own struggle with small talk would just have to suffice. Poor Njáll.
Jan stood there knocking at the familiar door of an old Canadian friend, two bottles of jenever in hand just as he promised.
Matthew opened the door promptly. He looked like a mess, he felt like a mess, but he’d been stress baking for about 4 hours. So his saving grace was smelling like he’d just stepped out of a pillsbury commercial.
He sounded relieved when he finally breathed a “hello,” in greeting.
Ah. All the signs of distress. Jan would be lying if he said he was surprised. It had been so long since he had seen the Canadian, and to find him like this was nothing short of heartbreaking.
“I’m going to come in if you don’t mind,” and the Dutchman steps in, almost weary as if he stepped out of one pot and into another.
