"I must confess to being a little wary of other supernatural beings. In the past, I have had some unpleasant experiences with others, but since I came to town, I have met some who have made me think better of them."
what is your favorite past time?
"Gardening. Observing the plants is nice, but it's most rewarding to plant them yourself, nourish them and watch them grow."
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done and would you do it again?
"Sometimes I feel like the craziest thing I have done is to come and live among humans. Yet I believe I would choose to do it again. I'm learning a great deal, and I have seen that many humans are much better than I ever gave them credit for."
edgarwayne:
Edgar flashed the kitsune a warm smile. “That’s true. A break’s at least nice. And also true, I guess i shouldn’t beat myself up.”
The vampire let out a small chuckle. “Normally I love the rain. Nothing is more relaxing than curling up with a warm drink and a book in this kind of weather. Today just wasn’t my day.”
His smile dropped as he looked down to the flowers. “Oh god, I didn’t think about asking. The bouquet for my mother is her favorite, but other than that I have no idea. Shit,” he groaned, feeling like he’d botched his attempt at warming over Grace and Nathan.
Edgar let out a sigh of relief at the other’s intended destination. “Oh perfect! My son owns the bookstore near here, so I can get a bag for these and borrow an umbrella. I appreciate you walking with me. Hey, like I said, a book on a rainy day is the absolute best.” Maybe he’d pick up a new book too. Sure, he had a giant reading collection already, but one more wouldn’t hurt.
//
No, he definitely did not need to beat himself up. Like Daishiro had noticed, it would have been tricky for him to carry an umbrella with the flowers. And his whole purpose to go out had been to purchase something for another person, which certainly did not merit any condemnation. "No, you shouldn't. And since the flowers don't mind, even more reason not to."
Obviously they both were not in the ideal setting for a day like this. "Yes, we just need to be inside next time a storm comes through. I think I was too distracted watching the storm approach this time to be thinking about whether I should have gone out sooner."
Again Daishiro did not think he needed to worry. Even if he did not know which flowers his recipients liked, the gesture was what was important. "Well, unless they're allergic to flowers, I'm sure they'll like what you got." At least he assumed so. He was not really familiar with how humans reacted to something like that. "But maybe you should check with them later on, so you'll know which to buy next time?"
That was fortunate, and now Daishiro was very glad to have met up with him. "Oh, that's good. This was a very fortuitous meeting, then." It would be good if he could get the flowers some protection and an umbrella. "I bet he has plenty of recommendations for good reading choices. Would he mind if I asked him for some?"

Luka smiled as he watched the other man petting Wolfie, at least he didn’t seem to mind, that dog was lucky he was so cute, everytime he’d run to a stranger they were delighted by his company. “Good, ‘cause he loves to do that,” he laughed, “He thinks everyone is a play buddy so he just runs at random people asking for pets” he laughed looking at the puppy and shook his head. “Yes, he’s Wolfie, I’m Luka,” he said reaching out his hand for the other man to shake.
//
The dog's exuberance might bother some humans, but seeing any animal happy was pleasing to Daishiro. That meant that they were being treated well, and anyone who cared for animals clearly cared for nature, and he was glad to meet anyone like that. "I might well too if I was that happy," he said, with a small chuckle, thinking how silly he would look if he went and jumped at someone while in his fox form. Perhaps the dog had not randomly come to him, though. Perhaps he had sensed a kindred spirit. "Nice to meet you Luka." Daishiro accepted the man's handshake. "I'm Daishiro. How long have you been in town? I've not been here all that long myself."

At some point in the morning James had made it from the woods to the park in town, and now, still as a wolf, he was wondering dazed and confused. His mouth tasted sour from dried blood, his vision was blurred, and everything around him was spinning. The wolf was confused and scared, feeling at a loss of his surroundings. He just wanted to go home.
Seeing a shadowy figure approach, his haunches raised and James let out a throaty growl. Go away.

Ordinarily, the park was a calming place for Daishiro, being as it was a place full of nature in the town proper. But this morning he could sense something different. He was already on guard, so when the wolf appeared, he instinctively took on his fox form, at first thinking to get away. The wolf's harsh growl only proved that he should put some distance between them. But Daishiro did not leave at once. Rather, he watched the wolf carefully, wondering just what the other creature would do.
Cautiously, he let out a low noise of his own, his five tails twitching slightly in his apprehension. I mean no harm. I am a friend to all of nature.
edgarwayne:
Edgar smiled over to the other man. “Oh, thank you. I think all the damage has been done, but I appreciate the gesture.” His shoes were definitely squishy with water in the souls. A warm cup of tea was definitely needed later.
The vampire chuckled at Daishiro’s words. “I guess if a fae told me it was going to rain all week it’d be foolish to not believe them.” Edgar glanced down at the flowers in his arms, a small smile on his lips. “I hope they like them.”
Looking back up he noticed the light change. “Where are you headed?” he asked as they crossed the street.
//
Yes, it was obvious the other man was already soaked from the rain, but at least under the umbrella he might be able to dry off a little now. "You're welcome. Better late than never, hmm?" As nice as rain was for plants, it was not so nice for people. "I imagine it would have been difficult to juggle an umbrella with those flowers at the same time anyway."
While Daishiro might not have been able to make quite that accurate of a forecast, he was in tune with the natural world enough to have a good idea of when it would rain. "Yes, it would be wise to listen to them. I'm not that good at predicting the rain, but I am very appreciative of its effects. In nature, that is. On clothing, not so much." The flowers were very nice, so he could not imagine anyone not liking them. "I should think so. You've picked some excellent choices. Are those their favorite flowers?"
Hoisting the umbrella up over them both, Daishiro started across the street with him. "The bookstore. It's a good day to be inside with a book, after all. I just wish I had gotten a new one a little sooner!"

"Well, I have yet to see a real pony that is blue with a rainbow mane, so I have to assume there is a definite difference." Daishiro gave a small smile. Even if the concept seemed fantastic to him, if it was something Sofi liked, the difference was obviously important. "I haven't seen her riding a stick horse, no. I assume it is a toy and not a horse that is particularly thin? But I certainly would love to see her plant. I'm sure you are proud that she is taking such an interest in nature."
Oh, a surprise. That made sense. Now he understood why Gravi had been asking his opinion. "Ah, forgive me. I can't quite remember all the human rituals and their intricacies. Is this the one that also involves people leaping out and shouting 'surprise', and hopefully not frightening their intended recipient in the process?"

@veilsstarters Luka took wolfie, the new puppy to the park, he sat on the bench waching the dog play, his head still sipping with everything that happened with the Dawn… she messed with his head, more than he liked to admit, he did not want to remember that moment, that was… he sighed, shaking his head, he was happy, he had a cute German Shepard to look after he did not need to be thinking of her…and that horrible moment. He looked at the puppy but, he coulnd’t see it where it was just a second ago, “Oh, no Wolfie!” he called out, fiding the dog a few seconds after, jumping happily on someone’s leg, “I’m so sorry!” he said running over to them, “He’s still learning. I hope he didn’t get any dirt on you, he was just saying hello.”
//
One of the main reasons Daishiro had decided to stay in Wildemount was the abundance of spaces to enjoy nature. The park was particularly nice, especially since the humans also enjoyed it a great deal. Seeing them happy in nature went a good ways towards making him feel a little better about the chances of them keeping the place as lovely as it was now.
The sudden appearance of a dog into his space, surprised him but certainly did not displease him. The animal was very cheerful and exuberant, and Daishiro did not hesitate to lean down and pet him as the dog playfully jumped up at him. At the sound of the presumed owner's voice, he looked up. "Oh no, that's quite alright. I have no trouble with four-legged creatures coming to say hello." After all, he was one himself much of the time, and since dogs were kin to foxes, Daishiro certainly did not mind. "Wolfie, did you say his name was? Lovely to meet you--both of you."

THE VULPINE TWITCH OF NINE tails, a ripple beneath honey-wrought complexion that spoke of a gilded pelt, a humble expression that belied the deep consideration beneath. it was oft difficult to differentiate between a good idea and one they had mulled over so thoroughly that it resembled a divot in the steps of an old building; duplicitous in an unassuming way.
STILL , THEY REACHED OUT IN silence , as if to make their soul grab something that had long since dissolved into the atmosphere of the town, “ i speak without a mouth and hear without ears. “ unconventional, the ice between amane and the stranger is fractured with a riddle, armed with unrelenting and cavernous gaze, “ i have no body, yet i come alive with the wind. what am i? “
//
There were a great many variety of beings in Wildemount, but Daishiro had yet to encounter one of his own. So when he felt the presence of another of his kind, he was a little on edge. It had been long since he had met another kitsune, and since they all were so varied in their ways, it was impossible to predict what this one intended.
The riddle did not portend well either. "Perhaps I have grown too used to human conversation, but I prefer not to speak in riddles." Daishiro bristled a bit, now aware of how much more power this other seemed to wield. He did not like confrontation, much less with his own kind, so he hoped they did not wish to fight. "I think it would be better for everyone if you spoke your purpose plainly. You do not need to deceive me the way you might deceive a human."
edgarwayne:
It made the most sense to the vampire to get all the bouquets he wanted at once, one for Grace and Parker’s brother to make good impressions with them, one for Parker of course, and then one for his mother. What Edgar hadn’t kept in mind was having to carry all four as he walked down the street, and of course it was raining. Well, at least the flowers were getting well watered.
Waiting for the crosswalk to change, Edgar glanced over and smiled to the other man that was waiting, one that was smart enough to have an umbrella. “I really don’t know why I never check the forecast.”

Rain was something that humans might not always enjoy, but Daishiro saw it as a necessary and welcome event. True he did not like to go out and get himself soaked, which was why he appreciated the human invention of the umbrella that he was currently employing as he walked about the town. When he reached the street crossing and had to wait for the light, he noticed someone move up beside him. Glancing over, he saw the man was burdened with an armful of flowers--and also was lacking an umbrella.
"Oh, here, allow me." He held out the umbrella so it covered both of them. "Well, forecasts can be tricky, especially if humans are delivering them. But at least you have some cargo that will appreciate the rain. I'm sure the intended recipient won't mind."

Gravi loved his sister.
Graviel loved that little more than anything else in the world. And the fact that her fourth birthday was coming up – her fourth – that blew his mind. It seemed just like yesterday she this premature little baby who was so small and fragile and scared the living shit out of him. Now she was (according to her) a ‘big girl’, who was about as resilient as a pro wrestler and still scared the living shit out of him. Seeing as a demon toddler was like a normal toddler but on fire.
“So I might need your help,” He asked the person next to him in Cake My Day, “My Little Pony or Frozen? A question as old as time. You can understand the amount of stress I’m under.”
@veilsstarters

Daishiro had learned quite a bit about the modern human world since coming to Wildemount, but there were still plenty of things which eluded him. As much as he had gleaned from Gravi and Sofi, he could not keep from staring blankly at the question. "Is...Is this a very important question? Because I'm not entirely sure I can answer." He hoped Gravi was being humorous, but he was not sure enough about the current culture to be certain. "This is for Sofi, yes? I'm not sure if a 'my little pony' is different from a regular pony, but I assume she likes horses, so that would probably be my choice. Though should you not ask her to be sure?"

Birds
The pleasant chirping of birds were the first sounds that West woke up to. Much like everyday, he forwent the use of an alarm clock, and just hoped his natural body clock would wake him up in time for work. Of course, West made sure to have enough time to feed said birds who woke him up as well.
There was a little bench outside his office which was perfect for bird feeding. His secretary made sure to maintain the office while West did his daily break. The calmness of the activity made it easier for him to do his job. Listening and helping patients did take a lot out of him, but the job itself was rewarding.
A few of the native birds showed up, but it was mostly pigeons. The angel liked all kind of birds though. One could easily say it was because West also sported some wings and liked to fly, and that was partially true. The full truth was that when West came down to Earth, birds were the first thing he noticed, flying through the sky and inching closer and closer to Heaven’s clouds.
As he enjoyed his time, he looked up to see another person standing there. West smiled at them, and moved over on the bench.
“Sorry, I didn’t know I was hogging it. Here, you can have a seat if you’d like”.

One thing that Daishiro had always noticed that humans had not been able to keep from their cities and towns were birds. Not only could they soar over the buildings, but they were very resourceful, able to find themselves sustenance and places to nest even among the urban areas. Wildemount was not such an urban place, but it was nonetheless refreshing to see the birds, and it was even nicer to see someone feeding them. "Oh that's alright. I was simply enjoying watching the birds too. But since you have offered..." He smiled and seated himself on the bench. "They are such lovely creatures, are they not? So unwilling to give in to the way civilization has encroached on them."

Amelia looked at the stranger and then at the close door button. She didn’t know who had been turned into what and there for didn’t know who to trust. She paused for a moment but the growling she could hear made her decision for her. She reached out, grabbing the stranger and pulled him into the lift before slamming her hand on the close door button again. Glancing out as the doors closed she could see a werewolf heading in their direction and stepped back as the doors finally sealed and they were separated from the beast.
“I don’t know which floors are safe.” Amelia admitted. “I don’t know how to get out without putting us right in the path of people we don’t want to be in the path of right now.”
//
He was not sure she was going to trust his word, especially since Daishiro was not even sure he could trust that he would not suddenly change himself. But whatever he was feeling, this different sense of power, it did not seem like something that would be out of control. Thankfully, she took his word and pulled him into the elevator. And just in time too, for a werewolf was suddenly barreling down the hall.
"I don't either. I don't know if anywhere or anyone is safe," he said, shaking his head, "Ordinarily, I would say I could cast an illusion to throw off anyone who might mean us harm, but at the moment, I'm not sure that I can." He had no idea what was going on with his own powers, let alone anyone else’s. "But perhaps if we go down to the lowest floor, we can try and find a way out. Even if we have to break a window."
evanixkamat:
She smiled and nodded. “Oh, that’s only because I’ve never had any of this. I grew up without a lot of access to sweets so whenever I can get my hands on them, I take it.” She admitted. Evani held out her hand and offered it to him. “I’m Evani. I just moved here. I’ve been trying to introduce myself to a new person every week. Congrats! You’re him.” She smiled at him. “Are you going to that party later?” Evani asked. “It looks like it’s going to be fun.
//
He had never had any of it either, and he was still puzzling over how much of it could exist in the first place. "Neither have I. I must confess I'm not all that familiar with human food at all. At least, this sort of human food." Obviously Daishiro was well acquainted with food that came from the ground and grew on trees, but not food that was artificially flavored and manufactured. Returning her smile, he took her hand. "Hello Evani, I'm Daishiro. I've just recently come to the town myself, so I really should try to do the same thing." If he was not still not completely keen on getting to know too many humans, that is. "Yes, I think it will be worth checking out. Again, I'm not terribly familiar with what humans do for fun, but I'm willing to give it a try."
