Well ,at least I adjusted the frequency. No one should have gotten hurt, since it won’t resonate with the liquid present in a cephalopod’s body. Of course, that does not mean it is pleasant... or comfortable.

“Well, the stairs are... pretty obvious, I think.”

“Okay, o you know the entrance to the Metro? Next to Squidbucks ...? You pass by that, and go down the left, and you cannot miss it.”

“Sweet! Oh, this is gonna be great!”

“Great! Uh, do you know where to find me?”

“Sure! I’ll just have to adjust the frequency to be less damaging to others!”

“You are... pretty loud all on your own.”

“Literally anything else, you know.”

“I do and I still think you should let your smart head be more creative and not limit yourself on it! Developing weapons is such a wonderful and fun thing! You see it clearly works after all, every unpractical thing could be turned into something amazing with the right mind-set! Didn’t you used to do the same thing before coming here? Even if it was just modfying some of the older weapons? Don’t you miss trying out crazy ideas? Inventing new ways to use your weapons in combat? Or even create your very own ones?”

Sheldon could talk on and on why he thinks the new things are amazing, but he catches himself rambling and turns back to his work.

“I’ve personally been trying to work out how to use a vacuum cleaner as model for a new weapon! You should come check it out sometime!”

“Well... I mean... I do get your point, but... I feel like it’d be dangerous. Imagine trying to use an umbrella, and it just goes off in your face? That’s terrifying.” He picks up a weapon, poking at it. A piece just kind of... falls off.

“...whoops. Well, either way, I just want people to be safe! Making weapons is fun, but public safety is better.” He just kind of scrunches up his face. “Like, remember when I told you about those Killer Wails? The ones that went missing?

That’s the reason I was so worried about that whole thing, too.”

“Oh, yeah! Definitely! Have you had the chance to try them yet?”

Sheldon pauses his work to look over to Mike.

“I really, really recommend it! I first was a bit surprised when Kensa came to me with their own weapon-line, but after seeing their products in action, I was quite impressed! They even asked me for my opinion on them, or what they could improve or balance out on them.”

“I’m... not sure if uh, you know, fizzy drinks should be a weapon, but you know... what can you do.” Not much, Mike mulls as he goes through things.

“You know my opinions on things, right.” Like... say, a brella being used as a weapon, or something like that.

Sheldon nods and heads over to the spare parts, preparing some empty boxes around himself to be able to sort them all.

“I have actually. I used the hours I could close the store up to test and analyze a few modifications on some of the new Sub-Weapons and Specials. Then I tinkered around on my new project until it was time to pack up my things and head for the train station.”

He responds while starting to dig through the big container he kept all sorts of stuff in, putting things that belong together into the same box and using a marker to label them.

“I spend Squidmas day and the day after with my grandma and the Cuttlefish family. What about yourself?”

“Well, I hung out with my family, too. We don’t see each other a lot, they live out quite a ways out, you know.” He shrugs, sifting through some of the items. “THat was a pretty fun time.”

He picks up a weapon, looking it over. “There’s a lot of ... interesting things out there, I guess. Especially since we got in the Kensa collab. Those are pretty cool, especially the uh. THose secondaries.”

There was a moment Sheldon considered throwing Mike out, but he will let it slide for now. He does actually need some help around here, especially after that last big Splatfest.

“Yeah, I know. We got a lot and more coming later down the year, as well some that have to be send back for changes. I am actually out of stock on a couple of weapons too, since a lot of Inklings got new ones for Frosty Fest.”

He responds and hands Mike the clipboard with a pen.

“Since you here, you can work. Could you count the things in here for me? I will go over to the spare parts and start there.”

“Sure thing! I’ll go through everything and ... oh, yeah, we got some new stuff... it was alright, I guess. Not really my thing, but ya know..” He looks through what Sheldon already ticked off. 

“Did you do anything fun for Squidmas?”

Sheldon responds, still little shaken from being startled like that. He takes in a deep breath, closes his eyes and breathes out again before looking back up to the Inkling.

“I am joking, but next time, please don’t sneak up on me like that… Mike.“

“That’s kinda cute.” Since Sheldon was so... well, small.. the pants had to be very tiny and cute, too...

“I was... I was talking about weapons, stuff like that. You know, stuff for the store? You know...?” Mike’s fumbling a little.

“GYAAAH! Where, where did you come from!?”

The sudden appearance of Mike scared the hell out of poor, little Sheldon… who had been busy cataloging his inventory in the back.

He has totally forgotten over the holidays about the Inkling that works every now and again in his shop, as well that he’s given Mike a spare key to let himself in.

“The... door..” He’d gotten a key so he could check on things when Sheldon wasn’t in, and had jsut assumed that he’d notice someone coming in. Could be a customer, right?

“..so uh, are you.. are you okay, or.. should I get something?” Now he felt a little bad about scaring the crab like that...

So, uh, did we get anything new in over the Holidays, or...?
