Big information dump about my Outlast Trials extra facility + a timed event type thing for the reagents with a new map + enemy (like project breach and henrietta)
I have previously talked about the Hayden Facility on this account which is the main reasoning behind this project, check out my earlier posts for more information on that facility.
With the new addition of Hayden Facility as well as increasing numbers of reagents within Sinyala, there were issues around energy supplies and so Murkoff worked alongside the government it had sway with to trial Nuclear Power.
This new form of power accounted for the majority of Hayden Facility and a small percentage of Sinyala facility, it relied upon an underground man-made resiviour branching off from nearby Lake Mead for cooling the reactor cores of the power station, however due to water supply issues (as it is the middle of Arizona) the cooling system failed leading to the reactor core being exposed and causing a partial meltdown. This led to major power outages within the facilities mainly Hayden Facility due to its more heavy dependency on it, however still causing issues for both of them.
This understandably caused chaos and Murkoff desperately needed "volunteers" to go help with the clean-up and salvage of the plant, this was a major priority because of the suspected dangers to the facilities and integrity of Murkoff it posed.
So Murkoff presented it as a new event, Project Dynamis, unknowingly to reagents a death sentence plastered as a chance to escape. It utilised reagents from both facilities and promoted them to work in teams together to complete their tasks, making it out to be like a test/trial to reagents, purposely withkeeping the details of what was happening within the plant, knowing nobody could come back to warn anyone and also using this as to further convince the reagents there was a chance of escape.
When the reagents choose to enter the shuttle that takes them to the plant, there will be no gas used and a single short message from Easterman plays, praising them for their devotion to Murkoff, begrudgingly, unhappy about the major sacrifice of reagents with no real benefits.
Upon entering the plant the reagents would find themselves within a dark room with alarms and lights blaring, accompanied with the groaning of burnt workers who are collapsed on the floor, reagents must all take a geiger counter off of these people and attach them to their E.S.O.P before progressing further into the plant. The workers can be seen throwing up and dying as the reagents progress on through.
The plant has long halls, no grunts, limited items, healing items only being able to be found within medical rooms as well as few first aid boxes dotted around, bottles can be found within break rooms and sometimes placed near work stations, bricks can be found from around the map as it is actively falling apart due to an initial steam explosion.
Reagents tasks in this include powering up the waste disposal systems by turning on the back-up power supply by powering up generators, it also includes opening valves to allow for water to be redirected to the failed cooling systems. (unknowing of what it would cause)
There will be one single enemy within this map, un-named initially, he was a former worker of this plant, he stands at 8'5", has severely deformed elongated limbs, along with a coverall outfit, apron, gasmask, boots and a metal helmet which are all melted onto his body.
He was in the near vicinity of the initial steam explosion and faced high doses of radiation but unlike the others, survived, his body mutating to cope with the dosage.
The reagents are given a geiger counter as to avoid heavily irradiated areas as well as the un-named enemy. The enemy, formerly known as Steve Mullman which can be found through “evidence” which are payslips/other pieces of identification, he is extremely hostile and possesses the ability to run for long distances, running even faster than reagents, making him extremely difficult to escape due to the long hallways, however he can be deterred easily when duped or when hit with a throwable, he will remain stunned for twice as long upon using any throwables, giving time for reagents to run far enough away from his poor eyesight.
When not provoked/pursuing reagents, he will typically slowly wonder the facility, this can be an issue as if the reagent is hiding and he happens to walk pass the reagents will be given a large dose radiation, this radiation is accumulated through exposure to the enemy as well as completing tasks and also time spent in the "trial", so there is a time limit unfortunately of one hour.
If the reagents are taking damage through radiation they are unable to regain that health, reagents can keep an eye on if they are taking damage through radiation by checking their geiger counter as well as health.
Rigs become unusable in this trial due to the radiation in the trial damaging them and messing with their frequencies.
- info about explosion -
There was issues within the cooling system due to a lack of water which left the reactor core exposed, unbeknownst to them the fuel began to melt and leak out at extremely high temperatures, when the water supply was finally replenished they were unaware of the reactors critical condition and began to restart the cooling system causing a steam explosion which caused high doses of radiation to be released as well as damage to the building which allowed for high doses of radiation go travel, making it a first priority for Murkoff.
