Some faces he recognized, and other’s he didn’t. The more familiar men already seemed to be talking, so Tate wouldn’t be shocked if the news had already traveled back to Oswald --- Where ever he might be within The Iceburg Lounge.

He continued forward, elbowing his way through the crowd of people.

Was he --- presumed dead? Some of the guests looked at him as if they might have seen a ghost. Though, it was a fair assumption. The way he seemingly fell of the Earth’s surface.

Tate made his way up the stairs, peering down over the edge, hoping the vantage point would help him spot Penguin.  ❝ Oswald? ❞  He decided to call out, brows furrowing.  ❝ Hey, Oswald?! ❞

Talk about a day from hell. A triple homicide was likely to keep Ed at the lab all fucking night and send him home in the morning dead on his feet. Luckily enough, Kristen was off for the next few days so at least she could pick up where they’d left their latest project. 

Knocking the front door closed with her hip, it occurs to Kristen that the alarm hasn’t started going off. They don’t… forget to set their alarm. Ever. And only one other person knows the code. Still, knife in hand, Query inches her way down the hallway until –

A smile spread over her lips as she slipped her switchblade back into her bag and she dropped her bag on the floor. “Get over here and love me, mister.” She switched on the living room lamp and held her arms open wide. “Right now.”

Tate didn’t need to be told twice. He slipped off the couch and stepped quickly, almost throwing himself against Kristen. He’d thinned out again, all that hard work and hearty meals gone to waste after living within that warehouse for half the year.  ❝ I’m sorry... ❞  he started out, a tearful choke catching in his throat. He’d been such a bad, bad son ; Why couldn’t he ever behave?  ❝ Things just got --- Crazy. ❞  Things being that boyfriend of his.

He sighed heavily, his head dropping down for his cheek to rest upon his shoulder. Sometimes, he missed being just a child. It was hard to get the proper comfort he so desperately sought when he was taller.

❝ Can I come home? Jerome and I, we uh --- We kinda broke up. ❞  And it was a messy one, at that. But Tate wasn’t in the mood to go into all the messy details. For now, he wanted to relax into the arms of his mother, having missed the feeling of truly feeling safe. He never quite felt safe within that warehouse.

You have the right morals. You don't want to lose your temper but it is your greatest flaw. It's claws grip you and choke you out until it has it's way with you. If you can remove yourself from the situation before that happens you will find sanctuary. If not, the devastation you can cause is unrivaled. You will not explode on everything around you. Rather, ALL of your anger, that has been bottled will explode on the one person who happened to trigger it. They will not stand a chance against your temper.

You have the devil in you. You cannot tame it but you can walk away before it shows it's face. The cursed ones.
