Distracted by the clouds swimming through that Wednesday morning sky, he sighed. An open canvas was tempting for getting some leisure, but DakHo needed answers not breathers. Nobody knew anything about him in those streets. He tried hard to remember how last night actions drove him to an unknown place without his wallet and his phone. At least he still had the keys to his flat and the bus card. The old lady at the convenience store told him to wait so she could get him some coffee, but he suddenly felt guilty and, with a yelled apologize, he started walking.
About two blocks from there, vivid chills ran under his skin. Numb fingers and a mix of eagerness and nostalgia joined to the surprising cocktail. How come? A stranger was getting close, entering his path and…the feelings of oblivion biting his nape were warm. He couldn’t resist to approach the man. He wasn’t in a hurry anyway, so…
“Sir…”, he began, trying to sound the least suspicious possible. “Do you know how can I get to Ilsan-gu?”, he kinda pouted. “It doesn’t matter which of the two districts, I can manage!”, he waved his open hands in a humble manner. But…even if Wang was expecting for the other to reply, something odd in his expression made him interrupt. “Are you lost?”, his sight showed pity. “Maybe we can have lunch together and find our way home”, he offered.
Loneliness. Everyone feels lonely from time to time, right? However, being lonely wasn’t a process for him. It wouldn’t end. It was a state, one that Dojung had to adopt and take as part of his own existence. His soul was doomed to wander around the Earth, unable to attach to someone. Not without the utterly painful truth that awaited him at the end every single time: loss. Every single heartbeat. except his, was meant to stop, and he had to listen to it. Again and again.
Dojung learnt, however, how to cope with the tragedy. Distractions. He tried almost everything and now his steps were taking him to one of those escapes. A very needed one, because his gut was never wrong and it told him something was off. However, something got between him and his destination. A young man... one that looked pretty much human. He stood right there, scanning the stranger in front of him. Trying to find some clue about his true nature because humans were not able to see him. He had some kind of supernatural thing going on but, for the first time in centuries, Dojung wasn’t able to put his finger on it. “ I am lost, yeah. ” he replied right away, not referring to the same kind of lost though.
He had an appointment. A ‘new’ job awaiting. ‘New’ opportunities. ‘New’ relationships. All pointing to the same direction as always... but this seemed truly new. And still felt quite familiar. Arms folded, he would’ve looked more intimidating if he had his regular clothing on instead of that black suit. Leather, cape and everything. Dojung was quite a creature. Dark and gloomy. Untouchable. ‘Creepy as fuck’ someone said once. However, that day he blended into the crowd just like another regular human. “ What are you? ” he’d lost his touch a long time ago, unable to be anything else but straightforward in situations where his instincts failed him. “ How can you see me? I didn’t approach you. ” with a tilted head, he circled the stranger. Looming over him, probably causing pure panic. Not that he cared, because the poor thing in front of him wouldn’t go anywhere until the wanderer got his answers.
