Some gestures to get myself back into the swing of things. Focusing mostly on rhythms of the body and making sure curved lines pair with straight lines. 

The last page is from imagination, trying to use the concepts that I tried with the gestures without reference. I have a bunch of figure work in my future.

Hey everyone, I’m not completely dead.

Some Reilly Method facial abstractions, well, attempts of it. I have no training in it and no real knowledge base to get a ton of information/step-by-step. I derived what I could from various sources/videos to try it out. These are of the same face, so my work in this method with proper proportion is still a ways off. That’s why I’m getting back into practicing for myself again, starting off slow, trying some new things.

Sickness and Final Fantasy took over last week, but here, have some nice portrait studies to start this week off. Yay sketchbook work!

Back from ACen and got a crazy sickness, which sounds normal, con flu and all, but I got it on the biggest day of the con. So most of my convention time was either stuck waiting to check into the motel+other motel shenanigans or in bed, sleeping until noon and napping three hours later for over three hours trying to sleep it off. So overall, not the best con, I got one night of drinking in on Friday and it all went downhill from there.

Normally I wouldn’t post about convention stuff, but today was the day I was going to come back to drawing for myself and getting my love of drawing back—which sounds weird but when all your creative/drawing energy is used working on school projects, there’s no drive to draw for yourself. At least that was the case for me. (A lot of my downtime was playing FFXIV)

So here’s my first post and the start of my plan to show up and draw something for myself and/or study every day. Also my want to post stuff on Tumblr again because it’s been a while since I’ve shared anything significant or posted regularly, I need to change that. So here’s a more academic looking self portrait from memory, please enjoy my beautiful, sickly looking face.

Done with finals, done with school, just in time for a nice car trip at 7 in the morning. I can’t wait to draw things I actually want to again.

WIP FFXIV Character Portrait: Arry Porrer of Coeurl

I've been working on this for two days on and off. Trying to get back into doing finished work. Still need to do some painting, just got the colors in and shading laid out.

I did have a paining layer, but I had to redo so much of the base that I had to scrap the whole layer. A real reality check showing I just need to draw more.

Another mmo, another guild I'm in moving to either a different game or server.

I didn't want a repeat from Ragnarok Online, but here it is. I just got a cool new weapon to raid with these people...

Damn it. :(

Played around with some new brushes for about 45 minutes, made some neat mountains.
