It's so important that Rei is the one who says this to Kazuki.

Rei who has never asked for anything, both from the people around him and from life in general. Rei who is always shown to be swept along by Kazuki's wave. Rei who has never felt he had a place in normal society, who was content to not change simply because he had known nothing. else.

But this time, he has found happiness and he wants to keep it, he's not asking vague questions like the first time or just accepting it like the second. This time he's saying plainly what he wants, he wants to prove to Kazuki that they are capable of change.

this made me cry my eyes out. kazuki being understanding of rei and knowing that rei cheered as loud as he could meant so much to me. kazuki understands rei and his limits, and also at the same time he's also praising him for doing his best. it's amazing.

as someone who's very similar to rei (especially in situations like this) seeing interactions like this warms my heart because not everyone is understanding even if they're close to you, so for kazuki to say this shows how amazing their dynamic is and just how cool kazuki is in general.
