"Oops, I guess this time I was summoned as a caster." Role play blog for Cu Chulainn caster from the fate series.

The plushie giggled as he saw his larger (and caster) counterpart fiddle with the laundry. For some reason, he believed it was funny. There was something in Caster’s seriousness that just felt odd in the situation they were in. But the little preferred to stay quiet about it for now. “No, I think we’re good.” He admitted while nodding his head. He really should’ve left it at that but the plushie wasn’t able to hold his tongue. Mini Cu rolled on his back and looked up at Caster with a bright smile. “But I’m glad. I managed to make you do some silly things and (probably loosen) up. I hope you had fun been while doing so.”

With that said, Mini Cu sat up and crossed his short legs. Then, he closed his eyes and tried to follow Caster’s teachings about meditation. Some seconds passed… a minute… two minutes… Mini Cu’s brows were twitching. He didn’t like meditating at all or maybe he just couldn’t do it. It didn’t matter much at this point, he just didn’t like it. About ten minutes passed since he started meditating and, suddenly, he stood up and stretched his paws. “Yeah… meditation isn’t for me.” The plushie admitted his defeat with a deep sigh. He patted one of Caster’s legs and soon he started climbing his lap. “I would rather leave it to you.”

Mini Cu waited for a little longer before he started pulling lightly on Caster’s long strands of hair to get his attention. “Do you want to keep meditating or can we go fishing?”

Once everything had been put into place caster just listened to the plush speak as the other seemed quite amused at what was happening, after hearing the smaller servant's last sentence he sat down as he spoke as well. "I see, well it's been different I will say that." The sage replied before the two got into position and started to meditate.

Caster Cú wondered how long the plush would last knowing that keeping still wasn't one of their strongest points, with that in mind the sage didn't go too far into a meditated state knowing it wouldn't be too long before he'd hear the plush speak once more, once he heard the smaller servant speak and tug on his hair he opened his eyes while listening to the question that was asked. "I suppose we can go fishing now, but let's get all this put away first okay?"

The sage didn’t seemed fazed as the berserker deflected the first arrow while staring at the direction it came from. “Well, it looks like we’re starting, keep you’re mace up, we’re heading for that temple.” He told her as he pointed his staff to the only building that was in the direction the arrow came from.

Even as he spoke, more arrows suddenly came in arcing shots. The monster grunted in surprise, and moved swiftly to try and deflect them. Even so, some of the projectiles grazed her skin, and one even embedded itself her shoulder briefly, before being forced loose by Berserker’s movements. She growled, doing her best to try and ward off these attacks.

The caster did his best to ease some of the burden off of berserker, using his spells he set some of the arrows ablaze turning them to ash before they reached them, at the moment of time all they could do was dodge and block as they had to make their way forward towards the source of the projectiles.

The caster looked around, he knew archer was there somewhere, he would have to be on high alert as he would have to protect not only himself but berserker as well since she couldnt do much against the long range enemy so he had to do the majority of the work in this fight as he waited for the first arrow to fly.

The monster didn’t see or hear anything initially, however she soon noticed movement in the corner of her vision. From the right, a projectile of sorts came whizzing straight for Caster. Berserker swiftly raised her mace to deflect it, growling as she stared in the general direction of where the attack had come from.

Time always seemed to be working against her, although, as Claudia left her apartment building fashionably yet casually dressed carrying her purse & a rather long package wrapped in cloth, she supposed time wasn’t on anyone’s side. She’d found it to be a fickle thing, directly under one’s control it would perform in an organised manner as much as the individual was, yet left to run rampant it soon became mismanaged and erratic.

Since becoming a Human with Magic potential Claudia had found it wasn’t nearly enough make her a Magus, she needed the knowledge to be able to wield & craft Thaumaturgy of her own, and she didn’t have the time or aptitude to become a student of the Magic Association’s Clock Tower, nor would she find help in any of the Great Mage Clans. The world of Magic was a cutthroat & secretive one, yet by its very nature Mana, Magic, Magecraft, always left a trail, and Claudia was resourceful enough to piece together such a trail and learn of an alternate way to gain the knowledge she needed, a genuine Heroic Spirit right there in the City.

After that it was just a question of incentive & first contact, it hadn’t been easy, Claudia had to find a way to entice them into meeting with her without their Master knowing, quite literally casual enough not to raise suspicion of any mistaken involvement with the Holy Grail War, yet intriguing enough that they would want to meet with her in the first place to hear out her proposal. So now Claudia had finally arrived after taking a Taxi across town to the harbour, walking into a lone unused Warehouse with only the clacking of her boots breaking the deafening silence. “Hello? Are you there?” She called out over the distant noise of construction & shipment work happening further down from where she presently was.

It was a tricky and risky situation to be sure and the chance of a heroic spirit actually meeting her at that time and place were slim, but fortunately for the potential magus someone was there when she called out, at first there was silence, and then a few footsteps echoed in the shadows until a hooded figure stepped out to greet her, the figure was just a bit taller then her carrying a staff while keeping the hood above their head.

“Who are you? And where are you here? Isn’t it a bit dangerous for a magus to be running around by themselves?” The figure asked as they stood there, considered that the hooded figure called them a magus clearly showed that they could sense the magical potential that she had dispite not knowing who she was or the situation she was in as the hooded being waited for an answer.

Well, he certainly hadn’t been what she’d expected, but then Claudia hardly had any reference to go on about what a Heroic Spirit would look like. Still, she’d done her homework about this one and had come prepared, this guy was the real deal alright. “Well, technically I’m not a Magus yet, my name’s Claudia Hortensia, as for why I’m here,” She unshouldered her package  and chucked it to the floor for it to roll open revealing its contents “I thought maybe you’d like to discuss that over some fishing?” She offered with a smile, so that’s why she’d chosen the harbour as the meeting point, Claudia really had done her homework, to know such intimate details about her contact as to even be familiar with his hobbies.

The hooded servant stayed quiet as Claudia spoke, the being wasn’t sure what she was up to until she finished speaking and showed the contents of the package she had with her, she may not have been a Magnus yet but she was interesting after a few seconds pass the servant pulled back his hood to show his face. “Alright then, since you went through all the trouble to get me out here I suppose it would be rude to say no and I wouldn’t pass up a chance to go fishing if I was given one.” The blue haired servant replied smirking a little as he picked up the rod and went out to the harbour with her to start fishing and see what it was that she wanted from him.

Only once they were settled on the pier’s edge with their respective fishing rods set up and a 6-pack of beers between them did Claudia finally address the elephant in the harbour. “I only recently gained Magical Potential, it was thanks to the first connection I made in the Magus community, hidden in plain sight of regular Human society, and with their generosity I wasn’t just effectively cured of a terminal condition, I gained Magical Circuits too.

But since then it’s been difficult trying to find out more, the Mage Families and Clans are out of the question because I’m still only a ‘weakling’ in their eyes, and the Mage Association’s Clock Tower won’t take me in as a Student because they can’t see any obvious aptitude.” Claudia explained, making it sound more like a troublesome obstacle than some sorrowful self-pity story, clearly she hadn’t given up on becoming a Mage, but to make contact with a Heroic Spirit she wasn’t aligned with, some would call it reckless or desperate, yet Claudia herself was more interested in what said Heroic Spirit would think, and thus continued onto her proposal.

“I want to learn, there’s so much out there I want to see but, ultimately I want to join the Holy Grail War myself, which means apart from not having any support, I also don’t have the years it takes to learn Magecraft and become a Magus. So, without sugarcoating it, who better to learn from about Magic and the Grail War than a Caster Class Servant?” She finished with a small smile aimed up at Cu. The wind of the ocean spray, the ringing bell of a buoy drifting with the currents, the waters sloshing below the pier they sat upon, were the only sounds after Claudia had finished speaking as she awaited Cu’s thoughts, then, the negotiations would likely start…

It felt nice for Cú to be fishing after a long time of not being able to get the time for it, the drinks were a nice gesture but he was more interested in the fishing and why Claudia wanted to speak with him, he sat and listened as she spoke of her problem, he occasionally bobbed his lure to attract the fish as he considered what she was asking, she wanted to join the holy grail war? Did she even consider the risks of doing so?

After reeling in one or two and throwing them back again as she finished speaking he looked around as he spoke. "Do you realise what you're getting into? It's difficult enough to learn magecraft but wanting to join the grail war with little to no experience? You know that the odds will be against you right?" He asked after making sure she knew how risky the deal she wanted to make was.

"But, I guess you did go through all the trouble of getting me here, I suppose I could give you a few pointers, granted you use what I teach you only in emergencies and even then I can't guarantee that I can get you into the war, still if you're okay will this then I guess we can work something out." The sage finished speaking after making his decision while reeling in one more fish only to throw it back while waiting for her answer.

Mini Cu blinked in surprise when he heard Caster’s answer. Two days?! That’s a lot of time! And without eating or drinking anything?! The plushie has to admit that now he holds the other servant in a higher place in his head. He was so surprised by this new revelation that he forgot to interrupt him midsentence.

Caster’s answer about meditation put his troubled mind at ease. “Oh, that makes much more sense!” He had been so confused before but when Caster explained it again, the plushie felt like he had finally understand him. His only worry now was that…But if I get so calm… troublesome, is it really possible to meditate without falling asleep? The plushie decided to stay quiet about it and hope that that wouldn’t be the case when he first tried to meditate. It would be embarrassing to have Caster shaking him awake after all this talk about meditation.

Still, the plushie was happy to hear that Caster was finally agreeing to join him. Even if Caster is a guide and trying really hard to be cool for their master, there’s no shame in having fun from time to time! “That’s true. We should go to an era where there still are plenty of fish in the rivers and sea… Preferably not contaminated.” He would hate it if he ended up with a stomach ache because they accidentally fished a contaminated fish or something.

When he saw Caster sitting on some blankets, an incredible idea occurred to him. “One moment!” The plushie shouted while quickly disappearing between the many blankets again. After some seconds, the blankets started moving on their own! But, if one looked closer, they would notice a pair of itty bitty legs moving under the blankets. It was just Mini Cu arranging more and more things around him and Caster. “Help me with this. It’ll be better to block distractions if we make a fort around ourselves.” His logic might be flawed but the plushie was having fun with all these preparations.

The caster had hoped he explained it better this time as it seemed something clicked for the plushise, it wouldn't surprise the sage if the smaller servant fell asleep but he wouldn't mind, it was tricky to really get into a meditated state without falling asleep, still as long as mini Cú tried then that was all that mattered and afterwards caster Cú would have to see which era would be good for fishing, maybe try France during the hundred year war or the golden age of piracy.

The caster watched as the plushise dived under the blankets before they started to move to make a pile around him, the sage listened to the tiny servant's logic and it sounded like a good idea, if it helped him focus and relax then there shouldn't be any reason why he couldn't do it like that so caster Cú picked up a few piles and placed it around like mini Cú wanted until the blanket fort was done. "Is this good? Is there anything else you need before we start?"

Soon enough they left the burning city and made their way to the mountains, it took some time but they eventually made it through the forest outside the city and to the mountain they were seeking, as they walked into the clearing an entrance into the mountain could be seen but as they walked caster soon stopped them. “You’d better be ready, I feel an enemy close by.”

“Uh.” Berserker grunted in confirmation. She, too, felt the presence of another Servant… And not just Caster, either. Archer was here, somewhere, taking aim at them. The monster wondered briefly how well this one would stack up against Archer of Black… But now wasn’t the time to be worried about such things. She looked around, trying to see if she could find where the enemy would be shooting from.

Although her dance was quite sensual, she continued to speak to him, smiling very cheerfully while they talked. Unfortunately, she may have accidentally activated her Noble Phantasm, and the poor Caster was compelled to speak the truth to every question. "... Okay, but have you ever been in love, sweetheart? You're handsome --- you must have had all the girls after you!"

Thankfully caster hadn’t taken much of any damage as he kept his distance as much as he could during the fight, once the dust had settled and there was no apparent danger from the bones that laid scattered the two were soon off again, making their way to the mountains to find the last two servants that stood in the war of berserker and the grail.

Indeed, the skeletons seemed to be little more than a distraction… The remnants of this city’s inhabitants, drawn to try and slay whatever living beings they could. With them out of the way, the monster and the mage were free to continue their ascent. Just what sort of foe was waiting for them there, she wondered?

“For real?! Sounds kinda scary when you say it like that.” Mini Cu’s eyes widen a little when Caster kind of confirmed his theory about meditating. There are many questions in plushie’s cotton head: Does that mean one can spend an entire day meditating without noticing? Even more than a day? Part of Mini Cu wonders if it’s possible to even not notice one’s own death when they’re meditating. The last one sounds a bit extreme but that’s how the tiny servant’s head works at times. “Is there a limit to how much time can pass when you’re meditating? What is the longest time you did it?” There’s no meaning to learn the answers except to satisfy the plushie’s curiosity.

Again, he tilts his head to the other side while pouting rather loudly. Caster can be quite complicated to understand at times. He can’t find the logic in what he just said. “That sounds kind of impossible, in my plushie opinion. Everything I can think of comes from the outside. It needs to exist somewhere for me to able to think about it…” By this point, the plushie feels overwhelmed by the number of thoughts that are crossing his mind. Thinking is not his fort, and he shouldn’t do it so much but, at the same time, he can’t help but wonder. “But if I think about it, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of blocking distractions.that come from the outside? And my spirit might not belong to Earth, but this cotton body of mine does and I cannot block that.” He doesn’t know if he’s making any sense but he hopes Caster is smarter than him so he hopes he will be able to get why it’s so confusing to him.

Luckily, the other servant’s approval of accompanying him lifted his spirits enough to make the plushie stop worrying about unnecessary things. With a cheerful voice, he says: “Cool! After that, we should go to another era to find some fishing holes or we can try going outside Chaldea. The weather is terrible but I don’t think I will fly away if hold tightly to you.” The plushie got distracted easily but that didn’t mean he forgot what he was trying to do before. He was also eager to ask Caster if he liked him as well but then realized that that type of question was too childish.

Mini Cu climbs and sits on Caster’s hood while the man stretches and gets ready to leave. He really likes how cozy is his hoodie! Also, it’s easier to just let himself be carried than walking his itty bitty paws. He doesn’t say anything during the trip, only his tail wags in excitement from time to time. The plushie is so small that he disappears in Caster’s hood, but the wagging tail pokes out of it to greet every servant that crosses their path. When they enter the room, the first thing Mini Cu does is jump out of Caster’s hood and run towards a pile of blankets. He disappears under the many layers of cloth for some seconds before he’s lifting his head to stare at Caster and wag his tail at him. “See? It’s more comfortable over here!”

How long one can meditate depends on who does it and for what reason, some do it to train while others do it to gain enlightenment, others meditate to seek wisdom in the form of visions, time varies but the more experienced meditaters can go for a long time, I think the longest I went for was about, two days, granted I was in a suitable setting that fitted me better for meditation."

The caster answered the first few questions that were asked, he would never last as long as those who could go longer then two days in search of wisdom or enlightenment, still it was good that the plush was asking these kinds of questions, seeing the smaller servant's thinking about outside distractions and how it was impossible to block them the sage shook his head a little as he spoke.

"That's not what I meant, I should've been a little clearer, when I meant outside distractions I meant like, hmm, you know how loud the servants across the hall can be? It's those kinds of distractions that I meant, so when you meditate you focus on a single point and block out all noise and distractions to the mind, it's really a matter of trying to quiet the mind and let it stay calm like a still pool of water, does that make a little more sense to you?"

"I suppose we could, it'll probably be safer to try a different era instead of outside." Once ready and the tiny plush was inside his hood he left and made his way to the luandry room, it didn't take him long and once they were there he watched as the small servant left his hood to dive into a pile of blankets only for his head to pop out afterwards. "Well it's good that you feel comfortable here it'll help when we start." He replied as he walked over and sat by the pile of blankets. "Are you ready to start then?"

This time Mini Cu stops giggling and listens to what the Caster has to say while frowning a bit. He even tilts his head to the side and blinks. Caster isn’t angry at him nor has denied what he said to tease him. He doesn’t understand. He had been joking before but… “When you talk like that you sound like you’re in…” The plushie had to bit his tongue and hold his breath to stop himself from saying something that might earn him a burnt tail, or a whack on the head. Even if he’s a malicious spirit, he’s still a child at heart. There are just some things he might never understand and it’s better like that. “Whatever, you do you.” Mini Cu corrects himself while turning his head to look in the opposite direction, clearly trying to avoid Caster’s gaze.

Once he had quietened down, the plushie listens without interrupting to the other servant. He pretends that he’s not paying much attention to Caster’s explanation but, actually, he’s really into the conversation. There are some things he still doesn’t get about meditation. Was it even possible to block everything else? Mini Cu was used to being quiet whenever he went out and night and tried to cause mischief but his mind was always occupied with something or other. When the man finishes, Mini Cu frowns again and turns to look at him. He looks slightly confused but his next question is honest. “You mean like when you stare at a wall and suddenly it’s dinner time?” That’s the closest he has been to meditating, he thinks. Was it wrong to call it meditation if it was not intentional?

But he really liked the last part of Caster’s explanation! Mini Cu’s eyes shone brighter than any star as if tiny constellations were trapped in his crimson eyes. The plushie’s tail started wagging again as he imagined all the situations, objects, and persons that made him experience happiness. With a cheerful voice, he said: “I’m happy when I’m with you! Does that count? I think it would be better if you accompany me in this meditation thing.” Being with Caster made him happy so, obviously, he would feel better if he tried meditating next to him. Then, another idea occurred to him. “But, let’s go to the laundry room. It’s very relaxing over there!” Besides the laundry room, the kitchen, Master’s room, and his hideouts were some of his favorite places in Chaldea. But the kitchen would distract him a lot, he doubted Caster would want to enter Master’s room without their authorization and his hideouts were too tiny for Caster to enter. It had to be the laundry room!

The caster kept quiet as he listened to the plush speak, it certainly sounded like the smaller servant had something to say before he cut himself off, while the sage did wonder what the other was trying to get at he didn't pursue it or ask about it after that point, hearing the question brought up about meditation caster could see why the plush would see it like that. "I suppose that's one way of putting it, although it's not as simple as that time can go quite quickly when you meditate."

Seeing the reaction he got from the plush and the question that was asked afterwards it seemed like he had gotten the small berserker interested which in itself was a good thing. "Yes I would think that would count, if you imagine something special to you in your mind and focus on that one thing that could help focus and block out distractions from the outside." It seemed like progress was being made and it did surprise caster when he was asked to join the plush in the laundry room, it wasn't a bad idea to have someone to meditate with although that room wouldn't have been his first choice but still if the plush felt comfortable there then it wouldn't be so bad.

"Alright then, I guess it couldn't hurt to go meditate there for a little while." The sage spoke as he put down his book and got up to stretch a little as he got ready to leave the room with the plush.

The sage let her do most of the work, he wanted to conserve his magic and having someone as strong as her to do the heavy lifting was a helpful asset, of course he didn’t sit out completely, it wasn’t like he was given much choice as the skeletons that berserker missed tried to charge him only to be burned to ash by his firey runes while the berserker dealt with the monsters she was facing.

After a few minutes, the two Servants effortlessly defeated the skeleton horde, with Berserker looking barely any worse for wear. She had a few cuts along her skin, but otherwise just looked around at the bones and armor scattered about, unmoving. Confirming their defeat, she nodded, and beganm to follow after Caster once more.

Thankfully caster hadn't taken much of any damage as he kept his distance as much as he could during the fight, once the dust had settled and there was no apparent danger from the bones that laid scattered the two were soon off again, making their way to the mountains to find the last two servants that stood in the war of berserker and the grail.

Caster just had no idea how it all happened, and while he told the berserker what he thought he wasn’t even sure if he was right, he had a feeling that sabre had a hand in this but he didn’t know if she was directly behind this chaos or if she was serving another.

For the time being it didn’t matter as the sage heard berserker and turned to see the problem, he sighed quietly as he just stared at the remains that came towards them, lost souls that lost their lives to this madness and destruction. “Let’s just get this over with, they shouldn’t take too long.” With that caster called forth serval runes with a wave of his hand send forth a barrage of flames which hit at least three skeletons at once as the two servants fought once more.

Berserker nodded, watching Caster start off by firing his flames at them. The monster soon charged into the fray, swinging her mace and effortlessly tearing apart several of the bony abominations with one mighty blow. Where had they come from? Was this Saber’s doing as well? It didn’t matter, she supposed; these things weren’t a threat to her, and she would gladly plow through them while Caster used his spells. She just hoped he wouldn’t accidentally hit her…

“Okay, that could work out great thank you miss.” The sage replied as she told him of where she could take him before she gave him her name. “My name? Well it’s Cú chulainn but everyone just calls me caster, it’s nice to meet you celiac.”

“Oh? I guess i can call you Caster then.” she smiled asking her childhood friend to watch over her little siblings. “Okay let’s go to Taliesin just gotta be careful of the Prickleboars.”

“Yeah that works fine with me.” The sage nodded as they soon left. “Alright then, I should be able to handle them no problem, if any come our way I’ll send them right back.”

“You will?” she tilted her head then again he does have a staff after all as they walked.“So um..” she tried to think of a way on what else to talk about. “Anything you want to know or have any more questions?” she walked backward but being careful of the angry boars of course.

“Yeah, I handle it no problem.” He answered her as they continued walking, he listened to her speak seeing her clearly trying to make conversation as she asked him if he wanted to know anything else. “Hmm, is there anything worth noting about this town we’re going to? Also is it just wild animals to worry about here?”

“It’s the only biggest town from here and lots of people go there for trading yet if you want to travel you may need to go on a ship,” she said yet she never left Eastgand before in her life. “Only to those who can’t defend themselves from the wild animals,” she explained.

“Oh it looks like we’re almost here.” she smiled.

"I see, well at least that's a start for me then." He said as he listened to her speak of the town they were heading to and of the wild animals that roamed the forest, once she told him of how close they were he looked around.

"Wow that was fast, this is a big forest then if we got there that quick."
