However it is still mentioned whenever barely plot relevant that Persephone is Reclaiming her Power to survive this very traumatic experience that nobody around understands what it’s like to go through except her apparently, yet her husband takes her without consent and it’s supposed to be read as “romantic” that they just “understand each other without words” no ma’am, gasping for air during a panic attack is the worst time to have sex, she did not and could not consent (also assaulted by Hades) or we could bring up when Ares just grabs Persephone by the wrists and starts slinging her around like a puppet while flirting with her, which imo counts as sexual assault

it’s been said to death before already that any “feminist” take that pits women against each other is the very opposite. But how in the WORLD is it empowering or feminist at ALL to make sexual assault a joke until it happens to your self-insert?

Never mind the author’s cognitive dissonance with “wanting to make a story about the gods and accepting the awful ways they acted including incest, murder, or rape” but also “trying to hold the gods to modern standards and therefore being disgusted by things like incest, murder, or rape”

I can’t like the “hero” if the only difference between him and the rapist is that Persephone thinks he’s handsome.

LO Persephone being the Queen of “Assaulting and Trauma Healing for Me, not for thee!”

Not many people want to admit LO is a hot mess when it comes to the storyline because they have biases against the gods from prior knowledge, or mainly they don’t care this is blasphemy about the Greek gods (as many don’t believe in them and treat them as fictional characters), and the graphics are pretty.

But it is a really hot mess. And all the twisted relationships among the gods like Ares and Aphrodite, Hera and Kronos and Hades, are all messed up, you really can’t say this is a good Greek mythology retelling. Because it’s not. It’s a terribly written, kind of visually appealing, fanfiction about the Greek gods. Which most modern stories are, like Percy Jackson.

But I wish people wouldn’t take this story seriously because some people actually do.

BRO! That is so cool that her statue made it into Record of Ragnarok, where she is Apollo’s “divine weapon”/helps him during his fight! The twins are the best part of this anime, imo. In regard to the Greek pantheon portrayals in the anime, they’re the only two I actually enjoy. Also Python and Apollo’s friendship is so cute!

I feel like not having Daniel Sharman and Matt Daddario in the same tv show/movie is a wasted opportunity…you know how funny it would be to see these two taller than 6’ guys together?? And don’t even get me started on their hotness. Would literally melt brains from their combined hotness!

Personally, I’m kind of tired of people focusing only on Apollo being Hade’s “competitor” for Persephone’s love. Yes, he was one of the gods who tried to ask for her hand, but he backed off along with his brother when Demeter told them to.

🙄 Another plot of “let me make Hades the sad man/victim in this love affair while I villainize another god to make some juicy drama.”
