considering gus was almost canonically a "pleasure to have in class" neurodivergent and shawn was almost canonically a "the whole years lesson plan has been disrupted in one afternoon" neurodivergent i like to think that every New teacher they ever had did one cursory scan of the room on their first day and unwittingly decided that a Great and Brilliant way to solve their shawn problem was to seat him next to gus. which of course, naturally and immediately, resulted every time in what was now a much bigger and indeed catastrophically worst shawn AND gus problem. this happened multiple times
#henry would try to stop this by calling the teacher ahead of the school year (dont ask how he got the class lists he's a detective)#and he would Warn them because he wants shawn to start the year off on a responsible note for once#and every year the teachers would take this call agree then faced with shawn and gus think theyre the professionals they know better#this will work#and every mid September Henry Spencer would sit in a principals office with the Gusters (the part of this he was really trying to avoid)#look this poor underpaid teacher dead in the eyes and hiss 'i warned you' (@shhhhimwatchingthis)
