A rare glimpse into the super attractive costume. minus the vest, that I get to wear every single day
Updates!
As usual, since my program hasn’t started yet and I’m still over a month out before check in, there isn’t much to post about. However, I have started on a few different things and had some things happen.
First thing is the roomie situation! I’ve had my group of 6 girls picked out for a while now and I was actually pretty confident with my choices besides one girl. Something about her rubbed me wrong, but I felt bad because she was the one who put me into the group of awesome girls, minus our last roommate who I picked out. I thought I was the only one who felt weird about her, just because of her very negative and bad habits, as well as her constant need to one up everyone in a negative tone. Then, one of my roommates messaged me asking me if I felt comfortable with her in the group. Turns out everyone all agreed that she was going to harm the living situation. At this point, I felt bad because we were essentially going to gang up and kick out this girl, but in the long run it was going to be the best for everyone. She still had two months to find and figure out other roommates. Luckily my one roommate was able to send her the message. Turns out it was her THIRD group that she had been “kicked out” of, so I feel soooo much better getting that done. I know how awkward and awful roommate drama can be, especially due to my situation in London with my disgusting floor mates, so I feel confident in our choice.
That being said, right now we are down to 5 of us instead of 6. This means we will likely have to get one room as a triple. Or, we’ll have to go random for the 6th. I’m so afraid of getting the random girl we kicked out on random though! However, I love the 5 of us and we all really gel well together (so far). I know roommates are never perfect and we’ll butt heads, but I’m happy that we’re all just finished with school and have experience living away from our parents house for a while unlike a lot of the younger participants. We also all love wine! Haha
The next thing I’ve been focused on is getting outfits for Traditions & training and all that jazz. This should be a super simple task, but theres two problems:
1. I do not own or wear anything business casual & all of my job interviews for the most part have been with artists or at studios where the person interviewing me is usually super casual.
2. All of my tattoos!
Luckily, my mom is a saint and my big christmas present was her picking out a bunch of business casual outfits for me from Macys! She got me some great pairs of pants and found me a blazer. Two pairs didn’t fit, so we went to Macys and tried on a BUNCH of clothes. I ended up with:
a black blazer
a blue blazer (to go with my polka dot blouse)
this AMAZING long floral skirt
a pair of pin strip pants that I love
They can all be mixed together and it’s perfect. I just need to pick up some thick black tights so I can wear my skirt. I also just found a pair of black loafers that will be perfect! I’m starting to break them in already and they’ll match with everything.
The last thing I need to figure out just in general is tattoo cover up for the one behind my ear. I can cover it with my hair, but I would rather be able to put it up and stuff!
I’ve started my packing list and started picking up some things in bulk, like makeup wipes that I found on sale in a four pack! I want to have the general stuff like shampoo and whatnot here and just take it in my car so I can spend as little money as possible.
Anyway, that’s my latest on my DCP journey!!
DCP bucket list!
I haven’t posted much, because obviously there isn’t too much to post. Recently all I’ve been doing is counting down the days until I move in and trying to figure out getting a car that will drive all the way to Florida and back!
I honestly think that DCP bucket lists are kind of cheesy, but I thought I would put my own spin on it, while using some typical bucket list items
- Drink around the world: I know this will be obnoxiously expensive, but I really want to try one small drink from every country. It would likely have to be over a span of days, or I’ll have to save up $ and prepare my liver for this one
- Try as many of the unique drinks at Florida’s Trader Sam’s/The Hanger and collect the souvenir mugs: I’m a huge fan of Trader Sam’s over in California and an even bigger collector of novelty mugs (I drink my coffee out of Spaceship Earth very often). Florida has a lot of unique drinks, such as the Black Pearl, that I can’t wait to experience. An expensive adventure, but it’s worth it
-6 parks one day: This one depends on if I get to take a quick trip home to visit and take my roomies to Disneyland! I’m really hoping this can happen, since a lot of my roommates have never been or haven’t been in a long time.
-Ride all attractions/watch every show: Alright, tbh I think I’ve already pretty much accomplished this, minus about two or three, such as Ellen’s Universe of Energy. I’m not a huge fan of shows and parades for the most part, but I want to experience everything that I can
-Take advantage of the behind the scenes tours offered to CPs: I’ve heard about the tours, such as going behind the scenes of the Haunted Mansion, and that is the kind of stuff I LIVE for. I really want to get to experience AT LEAST one. I know it depends on work schedules and whatnot, so cross your fingers!
-Do a photo series comparing Disneyland & MK: I know this has been done a ton, but I love focusing on little details and comparing them between parks. I really want to take a bunch of shots at Disneyland before I leave and take the same ones that line up as perfect as possible there.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Tomorrow marks two months until I check in!!! Any other suggestions that are a little more unique???
Would I be a future cast member if I didn’t take this picture? (The answer is obviously no) (at Disneyland)
When your new boss gives you the power of imagination 💁🏼 (at Mickey’s Toontown)
hanging with my new boss in Disneyland before we chill in Florida
Would it be a DCP blog if I didn’t post this screenshot?
After applying on a whim since my life is a giant question mark post grad, I got accepted! I’ll be a photo pass photographer, which means I get to put my degree to use (sort of). I arrive February 1st and leave June 2nd. I’m pretty stoked!
