I want to add that the amount of people out there that didn't know that Black people were promised 40 acres and a mule after slavery was abolished is ASTOUNDING. 😒
This is how Haitians won their freedom: no pleading, no marching, no begging, no signing petitions, no holding up signs, no chanting, no sit-ins—just decisive action! 🇭🇹

Black History Month: Stories of overcoming obstacles
They are literally the villians in this worldwide movie.
Booker Wright was an African American waiter in Greenwood, Mississippi, who gained national attention after appearing in the 1966 NBC documentary Mississippi: A Self-Portrait. In the film, he spoke candidly about the racism he endured while working as a waiter at Lusco’s, a white-owned restaurant, while also running his own business, Booker’s Place, a café that served Black customers.
His appearance in the documentary was groundbreaking but came at a great cost. After the film aired, he faced severe backlash from the white community. He was beaten by police, lost his job at Lusco’s, and his business was targeted.
In 1973, Booker Wright was tragically shot and killed at his café. The official story was that he was murdered by a man named Leroy Gibson over a money dispute, but some believe his killing was linked to retaliation for his statements in the documentary.
His legacy was later revisited in the 2012 documentary Booker’s Place: A Mississippi Story, directed by Raymond De Felitta and co-produced by Wright’s granddaughter, Yvette Johnson. It explored his courage and the impact of his words on civil rights history.

Opening of a wheat flour factory in Burkina: an advantage for the country.
This Thursday, February 20, 2025, his excellency captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ president of Faso, will inaugurate a new wheat flour production plant in Gampela a locality located a few kilometers from the capital Ouagadougou.
This plant is coming to strengthen the industrialization capacity of the country. At a cost of FCFA 15 billion, the double-star mill will have a daily production capacity of 300 tons of wheat.
It should be noted that the wheat that will be processed there will be entirely produced in Burkina Faso. This plant will generate about 300 direct start-up jobs and 10,000 seasonal jobs.
Burkina Faso wants to achieve food self-sufficiency by stimulating national cereal production and wheat is a key element.
The determination of the captain to develop the country is seen through good actions and initiatives. It creates a framework of trust and attracts investors. This factory is an example.
Long live Burkina Faso
Homeland or death we will win 🇧🇫✊

—Job Maseko, a WW2 hero, sank a NAZI ship with a bomb made from a tin can with condensed milk. He was denied the highest military decoration, due to his race. —Maseko was working as a delivery driver when he volunteered for service in the South African Native Military Corps during WWII (NMC). Later he was sent to the 2nd South African Infantry Division after finishing basic training in North Africa. —Due to South African race regulations at the time, they were unable to carry firearms. They were only allowed traditional weapons such as spears for guard and ceremonial duty. —Maseko served as a stretcher carrier for the allied forces in North Africa, providing medical assistance to the wounded. When his commander surrendered to the Germans at Tobruk in June 1942, he became a prisoner of war. He was forced to work on the ports at Tobruk. — Being a former miner, he made an astonishing bomb on July 21 using condensed milk tin, cordite & a long fuse. He loaded the little tin with gunpowder and placed it in the hold of a German ship near some petrol drums. —He planted his bomb deep in the hold on June 21, 1942, just before they were set to leave the already overloaded ship. He lighted the fuse and dashed to the dock. An enormous explosion erupted sinking the ship instantly. —He eventually escaped from the prisoner of war camp and rise to the rank of lance corporal. He was supposed to get the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious millitary award but instead received a mere Military Medal.
