“Those are iceberg roses.”
Weiss motioned to the white cup-shaped flowers growing from the trimmed hedges. The school garden had plenty of unique and beautiful flora but the songstress was quite fond of the icebergs herself.
“I apologize for butting in but I noticed you were admiring them is all.”
@lotusstorm
Weiss could say plenty about her school life other than fighting Grimm and thwarting criminal ring leaders. She took enjoyment out of attending school events unbeknownst to most and it wasn’t peculiar for her to take part in certain academy committees. Being a small part of Beacon’s campus paper was one such extracurricular. There were plenty of student written reviews on dust shops, weapon parts smithy's, eateries, and even more. So on occasion the heiress likes to take up a job of reviewing one such spot from a students point of view. This time it would be a new tea shop nestled fairly near the academy in the commercial district. However, the only price was that she had to complete the task with another student which proved to be difficult when you have two teammates with a less than satisfactory marks when it came to writing and grammar. While she would have easily asked Blake it seemed her most reliable team member for the job had already made plans. This left the fencer short a plus one.
Until JNPR’s team ninja as Nora proclaimed came into view and fresh out of his afternoon class it looked to be. Perfect.
“Oh! Lie Ren!”
Well, didn’t this lady look all dazed and confused.
Not, of course, that he could particularly blame her–hell, he himself wasn’t exactly sure just what the hell had gone on in these bombed-out ruins–although, the fact that the parts of it not submerged in water tended to have some foliage running amok in them told him that it had at least been a while ago. Now that he’s thinking more on it, he doesn’t even know how long he’s been there himself. For all he knew, he could have been lying there since the place got destroyed and he wouldn’t be the wiser. Ah, the joys of amnesia.
The fact that he doesn’t remember anything isn’t something he feels like dwelling on too much, however (it’s a bit of a downer, for one thing), so he turns his attention back to the lady dressed in white, who currently doesn’t seem to have noticed him yet. He loudly clears his throat and raps a knuckle against the nearest tree.
“If you’re looking for locals, you’re not gonna find any. As far as I know I’m pretty much the only person who’s actually from around here. …I don’t actually know a whole lot of fun facts about this place, though, so if you want information I guess you’re shit outta luck. Sorry.”
@flawedfinery
What might have formally been a settlement laid decrepit with undergrowth reclaiming all that was man made. It was certainly an eerie place that could almost mirror the unfortunate waste of Mountain Glenn. Now what would a young huntress like her be doing in some abandoned ruin of the past? Well it’s not as if she had a choice since she rather ungracefully stumbled into such a mess. With Myrtenaster clipped at her hip she hardly expected Grimm to come oozing from the bricks but Weiss would be able to defend herself from other encounters. However, the reassuring weight of her blade didn’t completely shake the nervous feeling that covered her from such an empty place.
“Ah-!”
The sudden cough caught her off guard as she quickly turned to it’s direction, her carefully placed ponytail sweeping quickly over her shoulder. So much to her dismay she had been found by a heavily armed and strange looking rapscallion. He could be a degenerate, a thief, or even a some sword swinging hooligan.
“Well, what would lead you to think I’m seeking information?”
“That’s...strange.”
Her eyes scanned the green haired girl over still taken aback by the reappearance. Weiss had decided to take a step out before the next match only to bump shoulders with someone who was thought to be hundreds of miles away.
“I’m positive they mentioned you returning to Haven with your team...Emerald.”
No doubt this could all be a small misunderstanding or a game of bad telephone but after recent events the fencer found herself quite protective of her fiery teammates reputation. So forgive her for the slight salt in her tone.
Weiss was hardly like her partner when it came to admiring the weaponry of a hunter or huntress. She admired those who had elegant and practical tools of their trade while Ruby was much more into the flamboyance of it all. The ice queen might have inherited myrtenaster when most students build their own she knew a thing or two about ‘control’. Nothing was controlled about an over the shoulder shark shaped cannon. Not to mention the thing was probably as big as Weiss herself so the idea of someone as tiny as the eccentric looking girl lugging it around was beyond her.
The fencer had been trying to enjoy a cup of tea at the most preferable street side shop in Vale when the assumed student had come into view. Even now Weiss was frozen with her cup in hand still trying to work out if she had even seen this girl take part in the tournament yet. Most likely not seeing as Ruby would have chatted for centuries if she had laid eyes on a weapon like this.
“She’s probably from Haven. Perhaps even Shade.”
“Being an heiress is such a life struggle.”

“Huh?”
Weiss ended her private performance and quickly turned around as she felt an odd sensation ripple on her nape. At first the heiress thought maybe Blake had followed her and discovered her new ‘hiding’ spot. Spot meaning the strange portal that had appeared on the Beacon campus a short week ago. However, she wasn’t met with the figure of her faunus teammate but someone else entirely. She had begun to think having a vast starlit plane to herself was nice but the fencer knew it might eventually come to an end.
“I wasn’t expecting to find anyone here.”

“ What are they doing here…? ” the prince mumbles to himself while they were being chased by mindless creations created for only one purpose; the demise of his own kingdom. Still the war between Nohr and Hoshido is long over, they shouldn’t exist anymore and even if they still did, they should not be attacking him or someone that has nothing to do with the previous war. However. this is not the time to ponder on the why’s it is time to run. Quickly he takes a stance and concentrates while taking aim, shooting the nosferatu so that he stumbles and falls onto his back “ The path is clear, come with me ! ”
It is clear that they are both strong individuals, but there was a time to pick fights and a time to be the smarter person and retreat and this was exactly such moment. Thankfully the Nosferatu are slow so it would take a while before they will be able to catch up with them. Valuable time that they now can use to catch their breaths and perhaps a moment of explanation and introduction.

Myrtenaster felt heavy in the grip of her left hand as she raised it to position yet again to parry the slash of a charging swordmaster. With an opening now available from the successful counter she thrust the tip of her rapier forward and into the chest cavity of the engaging enemy. However, her exhaustion had tainted her concentration and her weapon merely punctured the left lung missing the fatal blow. Weiss withdrew the rapier assuming she might have slowed them down only to be caught off guard by a sudden counterattack. The huntress-in-training barely registered the movement before they managed to drive the pommel of their broadsword into her side causing Weiss to be practically thrown into the dirt. The hot pain in her side signaled that there would be quite an ugly bruise to bloom there if she managed to survive this ordeal. Her bangs were sticking to her forehead from perspiration as she attempted to ignore her exhaustion and return to her feet. The heiress had relied to heavily on her semblance in this fight and it had sapped her energy leaving Weiss with the consequences. This was hardly like fighting creatures of Grimm at all.
‘Again...’
Clearly her pride won’t let her fall here as she makes it back to her feet once again poised and ready to counter. Before she has timed to attempt another glyph, an arrow has pierced the cavity of the enemy she had failed to kill off. The man fell to his back and laid motionless. Before the fencer could take in the sudden assist a man burst through the underbrush with bow in hand and urging her to follow him. Her legs might have objected but she turned away from her struggle and ran after her supposed rescuer. Her heartbeat still racing like herself down the hidden path and ducking under low branches here and there. From what she could tell it didn’t sound like there was much of a pursuit after the pair for the meantime.
Her leader slowed and brought their escape to a stop. The two had managed to leave behind the assailants a good ways back.
“Y-You. I suppose I should thank you...for saving me.” Weiss breathed heavily still attempting to return her erratic heartbeat to normal. Quite ungraceful for the well...usually graceful heiress.
@flawedfinery
…alright, this is a little unexpected. but that does not stop her from stepping forward to investigate, one hand floating to the weapon at the small of her back. she has no reason to be anything other than suspicious of the new FEATURE at the academy. after all, large lights appearing out of nowhere can hardly mean anything good.
hesitant though her steps may be, she finds a mite more confidence with her comrade in arms at her side. observing the column of light for a moment, she turns her gaze to the heiress, concern marking her features.
❝ …Yeah, I don’t think this one was my fault. ❞
The past two semesters had been filled with events that could be considered borderline bizarre and unusual for first year huntresses-in-training. Fending off waves of Grimm, radical extremists, and a sociopath running a crime ring was hardly something of the norm. So a pillar of light appearing on academy grounds was hardly as surprising as it should be.
Weiss stood poised with arms crossed as she watched her hooded teammate examine the strange light source. Ruby took another step closer in her observations which made the fencer stiffen ever so slightly in concern. Normally she would have advised reporting their find to a professor but considering her partner’s adventurous personality that opinion would be ignored. No way in dust she was going to let the younger approach this strange phenomenon without her proper supervision.
“Hardly. Besides I don’t think making a beam of light appear is in your skill set Ruby.”
“Hm. There is an odd feeling in the air.”
yang and nora are here so time to hide the breakables brb
The idea of her untimely end wasn’t a pleasant thought to think about. Adding that she was in some distant world far from her home of Remnant. Weiss was positive whatever beasts roamed this forest she could fend off or find a method of escape. Having her journey end here only for the Schnee Company to spend lein and it’s resources in attempt to locate her would simply not do for the heiress. The warning would keep her on her toes.
“General? Oh, I can assure you I’m not here to be a nuisance.”
Her brow raised in interest at the woman’s proclaimed title. She didn’t look anything of the sort to warrant a top tier ranking. The foreigner’s (or perhaps Weiss was actually the foreigner) clothing for starters was highly revealing leaving Weiss unsure at first where her eyes should settle. Being in the same living quarters with Yang still hadn’t prepared the heiress enough for encounters like these. Normally ranking military officers were strict to code and maintained a uniform. But oddly enough the huntress felt a strange comfort in the woman’s mannerism of speech. It was very much like her eldest sister, Winter.

❝ How did you get here? The forests are not really mean’t to walk through. I am worried for your well being as there are several monsters in this forest that aren’t to be trifled with. ❞
Her trek through this forest had begun roughly an hour ago with no sign of her journey ending soon. Her decision to attempt another portal in the in-between was borderline a terrible idea indeed. She had grown tired of pushing branches out of her way and the light sweat that stuck to her face now with the heat. Don’t even get started with the bugs because those were the worst part. There was one good quality that the young huntress found more than agreeable. For once she could take a step outside of protected territory without the fear of Grimm. However, her sudden lack of awareness made her unaware of a sudden appearance.
“Huh?”
Weiss was taken by surprise at the arrival of an unfamiliar woman with unusual garb. Quickly she regained proper composure to answer back, “I...I didn’t know that monsters lurked in the forest.”
“For it is in passing that we achieve immortality.”
