FLEBB Reviews Electrelanes' The Power Out
FLEBB Reviews Electrelanes’ The Power Out
This is an eminently likeable album, an indie gem. I never hear anyone talking about it and that baffles me. It’s appealingly gentle and dance-ably catchy by turns whilst still sounding for the most part like a cohesive whole. Go listen to it.
The Power Out came out all the way back in 2004 when I was 10, I didn’t hear it until I was in my early 20s, but when I did I immediately fell in love with…

Recommended Films
I don’t do number ratings, instead here is a list of reviewed films I would recommend in some vague quality order. Vastly different genres are hard to compare so in future I’m hoping to do some more directed lists alongside this.

FLEBB Reviews Kingsman: The Secret Service
Yeah watch it. Some jokes fall flat and Samuel L Jackson is wasted but its fun enough that it’s hard not to recommend. Firth makes his jokes work, the action set pieces are grinningly ridiculous and there’s hardly dull moments. A good movie for an easygoing night in when you want to watch something lighthearted.
Kingsman is an…

FLEBB Reviews Death Grips’ Bottomless Pit If you are, or were, a Death Grips fan give this a go, if only for the album's highlights.

FLEBB Reviews ’71 (and the Truth Commissioner sort of)
Don’t watch The Truth Commissioner, do watch ’71 if you’re looking for a fast paced, tense thriller. It’s an equal parts compelling and distressing survive the night film set in Belfast at the turning point of the troubles. Strong script, directing and acting combine to create a film that’s hard to turn away from even at its most distressing.
There’s something about British TV dramas that I find…

FLEBB reviews The Dispossessed
FLEBB reviews The Dispossessed
I would highly recommend the Dispossessed to anyone. It’s a dense, heady sci fi novel that loses nothing in terms of readability from that fact. It presents political philosophy in an essentially human way that makes for a completely engrossing read (Plus its only like 300 pages).
The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin is a 1974 Sci fi novel that remains just as relevant today. In it we join the…

About
Hi I’m Kieran, I run the site and write the shite. I start this website now in August 2016 shortly after graduating from university. I wanted to create somewhere where I could write, voice my shoddy opinions and develop the skills involved with both. It’s hard to say what this website will be and how long I’ll continue to use it for but right now, what with the plentiful downtime that comes with…
