A few months ago a Twitter mutual and myself briefly discuss the Fleischer Superman cartoons being our introduction to the Man of Steel and what makes it one of my favorite iterations of the character.

My take:

I feel the Fleischer cartoons got the mythic appeal of the character. The need to reach for something higher. Pushing one’s physical limit. Man vs Machine. Man vs Nature. Snyder and Cavill have achieve this with Superman as well.
