I drank caffeine far too late for my sleep schedule and drew brytz. I'm so happy even though i know im not the best at drawing people; Also!!! I usually do some kind of research beforehand to see how the characters im going to draw are generally depicted in other fanarts but ouhbm. i did not do that. ive been listening to season 2 of archive 81 again, and i'd really forgotten what a fascinating character rat was. i wish he wasn't just in season 2, he had such a unique perspective on the archive 81 scary magic system. most of the characters seem to be either in denial about how much they're going to get fucked up from bargaining with cosmic horrors or at best grimly accepting it if they've already been fucked up from bargaining with cosmic horrors, but rat is still so enthusiastic. it doesn't bother him at all that he's become a creepy mad scientist type thing who decided to nickname himself rat several years after forgetting his original name as a magic safety precaution, during which time he didn't have any reason to choose a nickname because no one wants to talk to him. he's learning stuff and making weird flesh cyborg creatures out of people who would prefer to not be weird flesh cyborg creatures, and that's exactly what he wants to be doing so he has no complaints.

i've never heard anyone be so cheerfully unoffended by someone saying "you creep me out, shut the fuck up" to them 4 times in one conversation lmao
