outofcartwheels— Hey if you don’t know me, I was previously flightlessknight from Ultimus Fantaji. Since that group had permanently closed down I have taken refuge into a new group called Collect the Reveries. 

Because of this, I have given it thought and decided to start on a clean slate. Giving up the once was and now and start over, not fully though! I am wishing to secretly keep posts from the old group here so a may make a page on that too. But now, I am spiritedawn for the new group.

“You okay there Riku?” With a raised eyebrow and his hands over his chest, Sora questioned his best friend. Riku seemed to be more silenced than he was typically with quick one worded responses. It wasn’t remarkably surprising, but definitely a bit on the unusual side.

To the sound of his best friend's voice, he immediately rested his hands on his hips loosely and a smile drew across his lips. "I'm fine, how've you been Sora?"

♔ — The pat on the boy’s back only encouraged the brunet’s euphoria, and he had to bite his lip in order to stop himself making some kind of embarrassing noise. He wasn’t usually one for getting so worked up (especially not around Riku—), but visiting Santa and being able to introduce his most favourite person to him was hardly an everyday thing. Plus there was the atmosphere. Which seemed to get better and better with every time the young Keybearer got the chance to come here.

“Yeah..” Sable spikes drifted with his movement as he tilted his head to look down at the box in his grasp. Santa looked on with a knowing smile and resumed quietly checking his list; probably noticing the slight coral tint to the Islander’s cheeks by now.  He was just happy. That was all. Happy that his clandestine work finally paid off and he was able to give this to Riku, after sneaking around for what must’ve been at least a month now.

A passing glance up to meet a teal focus brought the boy of his thoughts and back into the warmth of the Grotto, and he flashed Santa a grin and a humming nod as a farewell, after thanking the bearded man, and then turned to leave. Meeting his friend’s gaze once again when they reached the stark contrast of the icy outside.

“I.. wanted to give this to you in a less crowded place.” He murmured, eyebrows arched and matching a somewhat timid smile as he clutched the box to his chest, trying to act casual. “It’s your present, after all.” A pause, and he looked out towards the more desolate parts of the snow-globe like landscape. “Can we.. walk around for a bit?”

He gave a small wave to Santa as the two left, it was curious to why Sora was working here secretly without telling anyone, it kind of made him feel special being the only one finding out about this.

And he forgot the drop of temperature hitting him in the face as they stepped out the door, the weather was a bit too cold for his tastes living on an island but the view was something else. He looked to Sora, as he was the one who gave them this schedule and he seemed to struggling in what to say. His words made the silverette's eyebrow lift.

A present, for me? He was honestly lost for words, and really wasn't expecting or deserving something like this after...what he did. Don't think like that, he scolded himself.  "O-okay." he replied with a nod. Taking a quick glance he continued, "Uh, where to?"

Her grin widen and she nodded, touched that he remembered, although it was already expected he would. “Correct!” and she too, glanced around before shrugging. “Oh yeah.. Well, I’m wondering the same thing.. I can’t seem to find him.” she sighed, offering a hopeful smile towards the older male. “Maybe you’ve seen him around?”

He shook his head, "No, I haven't." maybe he ended up on the other side... "Well, he'll find a way to get to you, I'm sure of it." he placed a hand to the him before continuing. "Maybe we should look around a bit, maybe we'll end up finding him."

His hands fell onto his head, shaking it as he grabbed onto the short silver hair. ‘No no no, No. This can’t be, but how? Why?’He grabbed on tighter, almost tugging out the hair in pure confusion. Sora didn’t like this, he had so many times where he lost his memory, but he needed to at least know how this happened..!

Sora looked down at the sink, giving a couple of hazy breaths. ‘I’m…probably just over reacting…’Quickly turning he started to run, but ended up tripping over, soon getting up. He had to remember in wasn’t in his smaller body, and had to keep calm. ‘Alright…but, if I’m in Riku’s body…could that possibly mean  he’s in mine..?’ Thinking as he placed a hand on his chin in thought. It was only logical that Riku would be in his own, unless somehow the both might of been in the same body.

“HEY RIKU!!!” He poked at the other’s that was actually now called his own chest. Thinking if something would happen, but his brain snapped on, notice his voice was also much deep. “W-Whoa…Okay…s-so Riku isn’t in here too…” dumb question, but he was curious after all.

“Alright, think Sora think. If you were Riku…….I mean, urgh, I can’t even explain this to myself. But, how do I find Riku if he’s in my body…”He only knew that HIS body was in Halloween Town, but, some fragments of his memory seemed to come back. The doctor gave him a weird looking ‘Christmas Cake’ after that, he seemed to become sick and pass out. The last time something like that happened was when the doctor tried to fix his eye, but that was unsuccessful.

He huffed, Sora didn’t know if Riku had and phone or not, most likely not since he was a hero and all, And really only Doctor Finklestein or the Mayor had one. “Maybe with my luck…I could build a raft and try to find my way there..? No, it could take days, who knows how long I have.” Looking back at the mirror, for now, he would have to act like Riku. This was going to be hard…

Getting back up onto his feet, Sora pulled at the high-neck collar and fixed it, soon carefully making his way down stairs. ‘Also…if I’m in his body, the sun light shouldn’t hurt me, right?’ Finding his way to exit the front of the house, his hand shook and grabbed the knob, soon turning it slowly and light shined through. The silveret hadn’t seen such bright light for ages it caused him to raise his arms up defensively before slowly lowering them. Once his eyes adjusted, taking a deep breath in he swallowed it and walked out. The beach, the beach should be good enough for now, to help him calm down and place things together.

After freaking out about his shock awakening, Finklestein allowed him to sit on the table he previously was and explained the situation and he instinctively went into thinking, posed as the usual hand on chin and an arm wrapped around his waist. 

His brows knitted, trying to figure it out. "So, if I'm here. Then Sora is somewhere else just confused as I am about this." Riku replied to the duck thing who introduced himself as Dr.Finklestein, scientist of Halloween Town.

The name of the world was familiar to him, but he barely visited which was only once because of his alleged alliance with the Boogie Man. Even though this person was practically a stranger in his eyes, he told the scientist of how he woke up in another's body and the other pursed his beaky lips, rolling away in his wheelchair and away with his thoughts.

"So, is there a way to change back? I mean, you just did it before, right?" but the look the scientist gave him, seems that it was more complicated than he thought. He then crossed his arms against his chest, huffing a bit. He didn't like this, not at all.

Maybe there was a way to get to him, but how. He doubted that the others knew of worlds beyond theirs, plus even though he was in Sora's body now he didn't know if Sora used the corridor of darkness nor did he know if his companions, Donald and Goofy were here with that ship of theirs and these wings didn't looks good enough to fly across. All these problems made him close his eyes and take a breath, this was going to sound cheesy. 

Sora, if you're out there and you can hear me...I need your help...

Today I’m going to talk a bit about Riku’s character arc (big surprise) and how sometimes Kingdom Hearts does really great things with situational irony and little details to make a point even clearer. 

And it all starts way back on the islands in the first game.

Body Change-up! // Flightlessknight.

Tossing and turning in the middle of the endless night, Sora groaned. He didn’t feel right, his gut and body was aching in a new pain he hadn’t felt before. The teen almost wanted to wake up so he could get the weird toxic feeling out of his system, but he didn’t feel like that. Keeping the pain sustained his clenched his eyes trying to sleep it off in his half-slumber.

Unless that was a bring clash thunder, he soon awoke to a bright light, soon pulling the sheets over his head and grumbled with his head under the pillow.”Finklestein….Playing around again…unless it’s those kids…” He grumbled lightly as he peeked a eye, well actually eyes out. Confused, he brought himself to sit up, his vision seemed more open. Like, he had both of his eyes again instead of one. But shrugging it off he soon swung around to get up, his body actually felt more heavier than before, only slightly. Once fully awake, he looked around. This…wasn’t his house, not one bit. For one thing, it was far too bright and cleaner…Slowly taking steps, he tried to locate the bath room, he felt sick again.

‘Where the hell is it…I better not be living a dream again…’ Scowling as he got closer to it, when reaching out for the door knob he noticed his hand. It was more thick, well, more masculine you could say. Freaking out somewhat he grabbed onto the knob, quickly pushing it as he burst into the bath room. There he stood, in front of the mirror with a small mess of silver threads, aquamarine eyes and pale-ish skin, his eyes widened at this. He, was…Riku. But how? Why? Sora didn’t know so he stared at the reflection in fear.

Another night passed over the islands, his sleep was restless rolling over occasionally after a few minutes. Time nearing the completion of the Mark of Mastery was coming to a close, and it took a toll on him very unwell. He swore he was getting bags under his eyes from the lack of sleep he was getting.

But that what wasn't because of that he was unsettled on. He had a slight headache, not too bad but teasing you and a cold sweat, which brought on the tossing and turning.His muscles ached suddenly for some unknown reason, maybe he over done himself too much out on the battle field.

Then a shock brought him to sit up rather quickly, taking in a loud gasp of air. He took steady breaths, eyes darting around his surroundings. He was laid out on a cold table. Bottles and science equipment- most of them used and bubbling with smoke erupting from the tops and spilling over the sides. His vision was slightly doubled but it didn't stop him from swinging his legs over and pulling himself to a stand, although it didn't start well as he almost fell over.

He didn't bother listening to the loud sounds of a voice yelling at him, was it him? He didn't know...

But it was brought to his attention when a pair of wheels skidded over in front of him. The user itself was very pale, it's face resembled like a duck even though it wore a pair of small shades and a lab coat. "Wh..ere...a..mn...Ieer..." he tried to manage the words, but ended up in a slur and drawn out of breath.

He then realized he had one eye, which is funny because it took him long to notice. He wasn't sure if it was because of the double vision but one was completely drawn to the dark. Shakily he raised his hand to find what covered it and looked at his arm, even that was different too. His thick arms were now a lot skinnier than he though people would regularly have. Even his clothes did not look like anything he would wear nor have worn, and his hair was a mess- maybe from laying on that table that he somehow was placed on.

But he heard a name come from the supposed 'scientist' that made his ears perk. He asked to hear it again and then rushed to a nearby bathroom, holding on to the sink with his fingers tightening. One eye widened at the sight from the broken mirror, but the mirror did not lie what was truly there.

"I'm Sora?"

Miracles are things we make for ourselves.

It is strange to think that after she said that, numerous miracles began to occur at a rapid-paced chain reaction. First, with all of the strength that l’Cie-branded humans could muster, the red-headed Pulsian and five others took down the mighty and all-powerful fal’Cie Orphan, the very life source of Cocoon that not only powered Cocoon society and all of its inhabitants, but was the sole gravitation source of Cocoon floating high above the grounds of Gran Pulse. The next miracle was the Vanille and Fang’s transformation into Ragnarok. Rather than bringing devastation as it is often believed in Pulsian scriptures and legends, they used this thought-to-be-incarnation-of-wrath to stop the fall of Cocoon and constructed a crystal pillar and pedestal to hold up the former floating world. Fang, Vanille, and all the others turn into crystal, but with yet another miracle, four of the six awoke from their short-lived crystal slumber, as well as the return of Dahj and Serah, victims of l’Cie branding by Pulse fal’Cie. The whole moment were series of miracles strung together into a tightly woven thread of one super miracle. 

Who would’ve thunk that another miracle was granted to the red-headed Pulsian years later?

Perhaps semi-conscious, her whole body began to recognize sensations and external forces, such as wind, revving up her system. Her mind began to react, wondering what was that cool feeling she felt on her fair skin. A pair of eyelids gradually fluttered open, revealing the brilliant emerald optics underneath. As her physical senses began to catch up, her mental senses decided to pick up the pace. She started thinking about how…rested she felt and how nice the breeze…and sun were! She felt the sun. Her vision before her was a little blurry since she had just decided to open her eyes. The mesh of colors however began to form solid shapes and images, focusing the sight before her. Green….green and blue were the first colors she recognized in years.

“Hmmm….” her first sounds coming from her lips in a long time. Finally, she lifted herself up, extending her arms outward to give them a good stretch. “Ahhh..!” she gasped, delighted by the sensation the stretch gave her. Bringing them down, she looked all around, not exactly processing yet the context of how and why she was here. All she thought about was how great it felt to wake up after a nice rest and that she was in such a pretty peaceful place. A forest of some sort? Well, there were certainly trees around, but she was in the middle of a stretch of grass—like a meadow, perhaps? But in the distance all around her, she sees trees clumped together, so it indicated to her that this is one of those random parts of the forest where trees decided to avoid and leave room for a perfect camp site or to build a village or…something! 

“Oh!” she huffed a bit, standing to her feet quickly as she brushed off remnants of grass from her loincloth fur skirt. She looked all around. How come she was the only one here? How peculiar. She positioned her hand above her eyes to see if she could spot anyone or anything from where she was.

Not a person in sight.

“Where am I?” the question finally translated through her tongue. And then more thoughts began to race across her mind. Fang…Fang! She whirled around and around, her eyes widened with fear to realize that Fang was not with her. She knew the both of them became crystal together, so it did not add up to her that the wild Pulsian was not present with her. She ran across the grassy expanse.

“Fang! Are you here?” she called out. Unfortunately, there was no response. She grew incredulous as she slumped on the ground, bowing her head as she tried to make sense of the situation. Was this a dream?

It seemed like a miracle to have awoken again….but she was all alone.

The grass, the trees, the ambiance of the forest. It reminded him of the one that surrounded the old mansion- shielding it from any possible outsiders although it eventually became known because of the citizens naming it one of the known seven wonders of that town. 

It was probably the first time in a while that he was able to walk freely without no worry or feared of him or others being in danger. It was a moment where he could take in the area.

Air lifted and gave a cool sensation to his skin while he curiously strolled through making his own path, not knowing where it would lead him nor did he care. But he flinched rather abruptly when almost colliding with another and stepped back giving the stranger some space. It wasn't someone he would know, but then again being in an unidentified world, you're eventually going to meet people you didn't know.

"Sorry.." he apologized, scratching his cheek at his foolishness.
