The start of a book tapestry... this is before I turned it into my sketch book. I used an old book ( principles of petrology ) and wool to bind the book tapestry on the cover of the book.

This is a concept I have been slaving over in my mind for the past four months. I started drawing this idea out before I moved back to Calgary from Lake Louise. The concept is supposed to be on the human condition. I chose to do this full scale installation to make an atmosphere that people find un-comforting. I believe that it is the human condition to try to find beauty or comfort when you are isolated in the midst of turmoil, secrets or even just personal struggles. People can't look at themselves straight in the mirror, that seems like one of the hardest things to face for the majority of lonely souls. I am ultimately pleased with this result. Execution went as planned.
