All other humans and animals are safe and don't need to be considered in this scenario (i.e. you don't need to catch your skittish cat or bring your lizard's terrarium), but nobody else can help you (you must gather and carry everything yourself).

Not much is known about Saint Expeditus (Expedite). We do know he's listed as one of the 6 Roman soldiers of Armenian heritage, martyred during the Diocletian persecution. Expeditus is the Latin word for light infantry soldiers known for their quick responses. He holds a palm branch to represent his martyrdom and a cross with the Latin word "hodie" (today) for his expeditious conversion. Devotion to him spread throughout Europe and Latin America.

Guess who found out they have to move right before Christmas. This guy! After many many months of harassment and abuse from our upstairs neighbour, our landlord has ended our tenancy and we are being expected to move by February 28th. This is going to be a hard and traumatic process for me as I have a lot of trauma regarding unstable housing and all the harassment me and my husband have received the past few months. Disaster Prep is a full time 24/7/365 day a year thing, because no one should just go out and buy everything all at once, and times and circumstances change!

More importantly, there is no one size fits all way of thinking about your family, your situation, and your needs.

Some people do well with checklists, buy this and they're done. And that's ok! Some people do better with being asked questions and thinking critically about what they have, what they need, and what they'll do if x happens, or y happens. And that's ok too!

So having said that, a bunch of people I know and love have been filling my message boxes with questions asking me to tell them what to do, and so I made this quick little pdf as a starting point, not an ending point. This is the rough draft that I sent out, I've not proof read it, and I've found that days later, I'm still adding some stuff to it, but it's "good enough" for now and so I'll share it with y'all too...

i can not stress this enough, if you or someone in your car start experiencing a medical emergency while you're driving on the highway/interstate, and there's an exit coming up, and if you are safely able to GET OFF THE FUCKING EXIT. and DO NOT pull over on the interstate!!!!!!!! you're responding ambulance will THANK YOU. it is SO MUCH safer for quite literally EVERYONE if you're not sitting on the side of the highway. because people on the highway DO NOT slow down or move over like they are SUPPOSED TO.
