ah yes i’m so glad someone finally asked! yes i DO believe that ramuda actually is genetically BB’s mom

alright. y’all have seen nge right? keep that in mind.

so all we know of buster bros’ mom is that something happened to her– involving rei– that made ichiro want to run from his father. considering rei’s profession, i don’t think it’s too far-fetched to claim that she died trying to help develop/test the hypnosis mics.

meanwhile, all we know of ramuda’s origins is that he claims it’s a “long story”; there’s not necessarily a DIRECT “original” he was cloned from.

so perhaps, after his wife fell due to using a true hypnosis mic (which canonically kills the user as of now), he wanted to develop a human who COULD test it, which is ramuda and the clones.

but perhaps the lesson wasn’t the only thing he held onto from his wife. that’s right i’m claiming ramuda has dna from buster bros’ mom. or is her in a twisted sense.

furthermore, yamada family has a motif with numeric kanji in their names (0, 1, 2, 3), but ramuda has a numeric theme too– it’s “random/scrambled numbers”. so you can argue that he once DID have an identity amongst the yamadas, but his number is long gone since he is no longer who he was.

was reading ARB stories last night and oh my god the ramuda/rei interaction was even funnier than i expected so here’s a recap for those who haven’t read it

- first of all whenever ramuda addresses rei the highlights leave his eyes

- when he finds rei in the middle of the woods doing lab experiments he waits until hitoya walks away and whispers “hey… you’re not like…. you know….” and rei responds “no it’s not what you think” ramuda thought he was making more clones in the middle of a cave in the mountain 😭

- rei asks for their help. ramuda says “oh you are NOT putting me in a lab coat.”

- he puts him in a lab coat

- ramuda is clearly thrilled about wearing a lab coat

- moreso speculation but when rei starts bringing evil vegetables to life i feel like ramuda is deep down so annoyed that the guy who burdened him with existence is now creating sentient life like it’s nothing. quoting my brother on this one:

OH WOOPS that was just my favorite pet theory from back in the day. i haven't been caught up in a while but at one point there was a drama track that implied that bb's mom, or info on her or something, was stored in the same place the ramuda clones were. there were a bunch of other reasons and i'll rb my silly post on it, but it's not canon my brother and i just talked about it as if it were canon.

Posse x Deltarune (some thoughts about it under the cut)

It started with "that one friend who is extremely loyal and loves you, even if you are hiding something from them ...and they also eat garbage" with Dice and Susie (yk in Black Journey when Dice goes "you aren't the real 'you'? Like I care, you're the only 'you' that I know", Now think about Susie)

But then I just thought a lot!! The character with an older sibling who isn't with us right now (though the sibling isn't dead), who looks like a smart goody two shoes but that actually has a goofier side, who likes mystery and the occult? ,,,Gencharo.......

For Ramuda, I made him both Kris and Ralsei bc this isn't a coherent AU, I thought he fit both bc

For Kris- Struggles with self identity, feels/is being used like a puppet, double agent (and one of the people they're working with happens to be the mother of one of their friends, who is in the government), going through it but when beside their beloved friends feels like things might just be okay, devilish (as in teasing, prankster, """childish""") but also got a serious/quiet side

For Ralsei- cute pink boys who enjoy being cute, hiding things from their friends, feels disconnected to being a real human(/monster), the one who got the main trio to form a team(?), knows more than he leads on

So yeah! Other things I thought about: Carol would be Otome (so there's a bit of a roleswap with Dice-Susie and Gen-Noelle), Rei is Gaster, Sasara is Tenna but I don't like how that implies Spamton is Rosho.o

hair the color of dead leaves

this was inspired by a line from a jpn fic i read that described gentaro's hair as "the color of dead leaves." unfortunately i can't find the fic anymore so it might've been taken down ToT but it's stuck with me ever since i first read it because gentaro is "phantom," so i love to describe him as such in my writing… pale as a phantom, cold as a corpse, hair the color of dead leaves. he's more dead than he is alive

so yeah i waited the whole year for the leaves outside to start turning brown 😭 but i also used some leaves from the plants at home >w<

i'm very happy to have finally finished this, especially since i've had it on my mind for a long time now!! 😊
