Reblogging again because this is the ONLY “fashion through time” video that does it right. All the others glamorize/modernize the eras WAY too much, esp. considering they’re claiming historical accuracy. This is the only one that truly nails it.

In the books, it even says that there were boys and girls from each school. Thanks Hollywood for making Durmstrang buff and all athletic men and Beauxbatons all feminine and dainty.
Just imagine what it would have meant for every kid watching, seeing girls walking beside the guys in Durmstrang being “manly” and boys walking with Beuxbaton being flirty and feminine.
It would have shown that girls and boys can be however they want.
It also suggested that the only way a female could have be selected to participate was if she was not up against any male competition. In the books Fleur is chosen as the best candidate for her school from a selection of female AND male students. And she was the best PERSON. Not the best GIRL.

Shoutout to the ones that are going with their friends to PRIDE, events, or nightclubs so they don’t go alone. When you’re first coming out you often don’t know anyone in the community and it’s nice to have someone st your side as you navigate through it. The friends that are respectful of our safe spaces and want us to have the same experiences they do. ✌🏽

(Mostly used in my country)
+“Don’t give green bananas to the monkey dad” (a papá mono con bananas verdes no)- it means don’t lie to me because I’ve got more experience/knowledge than you
+“So you don’t like soup? Eat two servings” (no te gusta la sopa? Dos platos)- stop complaining, it is what it is, and suck it up
+“Bread to bread and wine to wine” (Al pan pan y Al vino vino)- say things like they truly are, call things by their names
+“Every madman has its business” (cada loco con su tema)- used when you tell someone you’re minding your business and not interfering/ telling someone not to interfere
+“Donkey flesh isn’t transparent” or “Are you the child of a glassmaker?”- (La carne de burro no es transparente o ¿Vos sos hijo de vidriero?)- used when someone stands in front of you and doesn’t allow you to see past them (donkey is an insult for being dumb in Spanish idk why)
