♫ – “s-surpass...” words failed her as she watched the tiny principal get comfortable in his seat. though she was hard working, and more or less believed in her ability to become a hero, the thought of surpassing present mic (her idol, really) was one she’d never considered. he wasn’t the number one or anything, but the only sound-based hero she knew of.

“thank you, but...” but isn’t that saying a little too much too soon? she felt like she was leagues behind any of her classmates some days; thinking she could surpass any hero was hard to imagine. “i can’t really picture myself as a better hero than him.”

“Ampharos?” It takes him a minute to remember which pokemon it is, pulling out his phone to pull up a picture, expecting something stupid looking. Instead he laughs lightly at the cute pokemon on his phone. “Hey, it’s cool! I thought you were gonna mess with me there for a minute.” He’s used to Jirou’s playful teasing, but she seems to be taking this seriously, so he grins. 

“It’s still fluffy! Feel!” he says, shaking his head and leaning his head towards her. “Hey, you think I’m cute, Jirou?”

♫ – “no, i said ampharos is cute, not you.” a huff as she leans one of her hands up to accept the invitation and pet his hair. he’s not wrong; it’s incredibly fluffy, way more than she would have anticipated looking at it.

“but i guess bein’ so fluffy makes you...sorta cute.” the pets don’t stop, somewhat thoughtful as her fingers lightly card through his hair. “just a little bit.”

“... ...does being called pikachu really bother you so much? i mean, in the games pikachu is really cute and really strong.” was it the amount? or maybe people said it in a way that was somewhat too insulting.
