I wrote a few things on the tags on another post but here it goes, I wrote a bit more about it now and I might share this as a reminder to myself and others: it is time to learn to accept kindness. Time to learn to accept compassion. Time to learn to accept friendships. I will let people in, there is no shame in being vulnerable with other people. I was born to live in a community, to love and be loved, to give affection and receive it, to help and be helped.

People won't always break my heart. There are great people out there, who want to make connections just as much as I do. Friends can and will love me for who I am, and my lack of confidence doesn't mean I am worthless to others. Friends see my worth and like me for who I am even when I don't feel good about myself. It is no shame to need people and it is time to cope better with my fear of needing them.

I am not alone. I am not a loser. I was born to live in a community. I have inherent worth because I am alive, because I exist, and to be alive today is enough for me to be worthy of kindness and compassion, especially from myself. I can let other people in.
