the fun thing about having a mental health crashout in your thirties is that sure yeah you're crashing out, but at the same time there's a part of you standing across the room smoking ben affleck style, going yeah yeah you're crashing out. you crashed out before you will crash out again can we wrap this up yet. and the most annoying part about it is that they're right, and that that does Not stop you from crashing out even a little. love and light on planet earth.
So I was thinking about this post
May I present to you: the least to most specific movie night ever, ranked.
The amount of disbelief I’m willing to suspend is directly proportional to how entertaining the show is. If a show is barely able to hold my attention and has betrayed my trust before, fuck you, that’s not how cutting someone’s head off works.
If I’m glued to my seat every week and can’t stop watching, then yes, absolutely, the professional athlete in a blond wig is indistinguishable from the 17 year old lead actress.
printers behave like that because the medieval monks they put out of work are haunting them

"girls could NeVeR!!1!1! beat '''''males''''''™ in athletics????? it's BiOlOgY!??!?!?"
idk bud have you tried um. feeding them
these murderous idiots are teaching young girls and women to be afraid of calories when eating a LOT of calories is literally vital for performing well in competitive sports. and then claiming it's 'natural' to uphold sex segregation bc of this imposed malnutrition. it's fucking crazymaking.
the mechanics here are truly horrific. systematically deny [cis] women athletes adequate nutrition and hydration, overwork and injure them. deprive them of the ability to realize the true extent of their strength and skill. segregate athletics based on false ideas of "sex" based on generations of malnourishment and poor training. blame trans woman athletes for the mere possibility that one might beat a cis woman, while claiming that the cis woman's defeat is inevitable. create emotionally stressful and often sexually humiliating tests to "purify" competitive athletics rather than foster the physical health of athletes. continue punishing all women for daring to play sports + have bodies.
"are you gonna take those pills the rest of your life?" you mean my molecules? why surely you wouldn't deprive me of my molecules. they are shaped exactly just so, you see. my molecules
do you know how hard someone had to work to make my molecules into their molecule shapes??
they invented a new shape of molecule just for me and you want me to what, not absorb it???
reblog to remind somebody about their molecules
people who shape molecules at their jobs found this post and they're in the notes being happy to be appreciated. go take your fucking molecules
it’s weird if fat people don’t exist in your art
i want to say that this isn’t an attempt to guilt you into learning. i don’t want you to disingenuously draw fat bodies because i made you feel bullied, or because you want some sort of online clout. i’m tired of begging other artists to do something they obviously don’t want to do, so i’m not begging. i’m stating what i think of you and your work. no matter your skill, no matter your presence: it’s weird if fat people don’t exist in your art
This also goes for writing, and I never thought about it until I read this delightful fantasy romance with a fat love interest, and realized I've never read a book where the love interest was fat (aside from secondary characters, such as Breeze in Mistborn).
Featuring both covers, because oh boy are they different vibes.
this trans day of visibility i would really appreciate it if we all took some time to think about the nonbinary people who are invisible. the nonbinary people who aren't out in real life yet. the nonbinary people who haven't medically transitioned one way or the other and so are only recognized as their assigned gender. the nonbinary people who have or want to medically transition but can only find resources worded and written for trans men and trans women. nonbinary people who stop using all pronouns because they were only ever getting the same two anyway. nonbinary people who forced themselves to accept pronouns that feel wrong because their neopronouns were "too confusing" or "too weird". nonbinary people who force themselves to accept gendered labels because "what are we supposed to do, come up with whole new words??" nonbinary people who don't have the option of non-gendered pronouns or terms in their language. nonbinary people who stopped identifying as nonbinary and accepted a lifetime of discomfort because it was easier for their own community to accept a sad man or woman (trans or cis) than it was to accept a happy nonbinary person.
none of these are hypotheticals. all of these are real people. they exist, and they're invisible.
please see them.
and the nonbinary people uninterested in medical transition. the nonbinary people for whom no pronouns feel right, in any language. the nonbinary people who couldn't pass as nonbinary if they tried and don't particularly want to. the nonbinary people who bind or pack or tuck as they like—or not!—from day to day. the nonbinary people who don't identify as trans and the nonbinary people who do.
they exist, too.
josh?
where’s the body of christ?
For anyone who doesn’t know, we grew up living off of Brian Jacque’s Redwall series, which we remember most prominently for 1) its depictions of hope in impossible circumstances, and 2) its vivid and enviable descriptions of the food served at feasts. Well, today, 10-15 years after consuming this entire saga, guess what I found at the library.
It has recipes for everything I ever wanted. Strawberry fizz, Blackberry and Apple Cake, classic Redwall scones. And as if that’s not enough, a note from the author himself:
With all the love in my heart,
@inkweaver22-blr
This is frying me lmao
Why do I need to write two little stories of at least 100 characters (but no more than 350!) when I want to report someone calling another user a "typical savage muslim"? (or any other instance of hate speech)
What use does any of that serve except as a way to discourage people from reporting hate speech?
I was reminded of this post just now while reporting a message that was just the n-word, typing my 100 characters about what it is that I'm reporting, and my 100 characters explaining how sending slurs to people goes against tumblr's hate speech policy.
I'm sure this reporting system greatly helps streamline the process of dealing with the rampant racism and transphobia on this site.
another cool thing i noticed is that when you see a racist post, you have to click the meatball menu and then click "Report Post".
You then have to specify that you are reporting it for the reason of "Other" and then select "Hate Speech".
When you get to that point, somehow the system has FORGOTTEN what post you were reporting.
So you have to go back and click the menu again to click "Copy Link" to then paste it in the "what post are you reporting?" field.
Then you have to write your two 100 character stories to explain why someone calling Black people subhuman is against the rules.
This has to be a deliberate design choice, right? Noone could accidentally make a reporting system this bad.
@staff if you want to scratch that itch of constantly messing with the site, how about fixing actual problems like this instead of making useless changes no one wants?
