#i actually had this exact same thought whenever people mentioned God as a kid #but instead of The Count it was a family friend who came to fix our deck one time #he was literally just a regular guy but I always used him to fill in the blank of what God looked like

I think the reason the "it was all in a character's head" / "X was in a coma and imagining the plot" is objectively the worst use of human creativity for speculative media analysis, is because every piece of fiction comes from an author's imagination already, and thus any signals or signs indicative of this theory are literally just byproducts of the fact you are consuming a piece of media created by a human being with a brain

No no, see, the main categories are as follows, in approximate order of most to least common:

Wild Cat (generic)

Big Dog (will be specific, but almost always Wolf, Husky, or Bulldog)

Bird of Prey (usually Eagles > Falcons > Hawks)

Some Guy (usually America-themed with the racist ones getting less and less common, thank god, but you will occasionally get Greco-Roman Guy or Pirate-ish Guy)

Big Cat (specific, usually Tigers > Panthers > Jaguars > Other, with Lions being surprisingly much rarer than you would think)

Powerful Animal Misc. (again, Bears are here but weirdly rare? you'll see Mustangs more often)
