"Why do we dream? "

One stormy day, I sat in my rocking chair while reading the newspaper. I could already hear my two daughters running down the stairs and screaming joyfully. It is still unbelievable that I am a dad. My daughters were so beautiful. They had the deep brown eyes of their mother… Whatever, my little stars came to me and they suddenly started asking : “ Dad, why do we actually dream?” That question seemed to be really simple to answer, but it really wasn’t. I wasn’t sure why we dreamt, I was never as confused as then, when my little stars asked me some things . So I really had to ask myself. Dreams were beautiful. Also when it is maybe a nightmare, it is beautiful because it’s theoretically a world where we can do anything and where we can be anything. Its like a second, secret life. Dreaming is like visiting a good friend. It is a place where you can finally rest after having a lot of problems in the real life. It is a place where your wishes come true if you know how to act while dreaming. So I answered: “When you are old enough, you will understand how much of a big blessing dreams are. And sadly, there will come a time where the only break from daily things will be your dreams. That’s why always enjoy the present. Never overthink about your past and never be afraid of the future. Just enjoy the moment.”

The Buddhists say if you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that’s not the one. When you meet your ‘soulmate’ you’ll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation.
