Damir's Relationships With Canon Characters (Part 1)

Very complicated, to say the least. Damir can get along with him sometimes, and is occasionally willing to take the fall for but since Chapter 1 and Gary turning to be manipulative, a bit more complicated. He used to take the fall for Gary.

Norton @norton-w

Probably the only person with a healthy mindset that Damir likes and looks up to, seeing him as a second older brother figure. One of the few people who Damir is sort of emotionally honest with. One of the few times he listens more than yaps.

Trent @thetrentman

Used to find Trent annoying and arrogant when he first joined, and still does, but now also is friends with him. He's happy to listen to Trent talk, sometimes giving good wisdom, and other times making the situation worse for his own amusement. They talk about haircare with each other.

Bryce @leanmeanfightingmachine

He doesn't like Bryce, but on the other hand, finds the way he acts laughable. He will constantly try and set Bryce off, while mimicking him. He thinks something is up with Bryce, but isn't sure what. Why does he keep mentioning the preps in like every sentence?

Lola @lo-lombardi

On decent terms with her, most of the time, as she's a greaser. The one thing he thought was odd was when she tried to flirt with him once, but she did get the hint. Lollipop as a nickname is used both to be mean, and genuinely affectionate. She and him have good conversations from time to time.

OOC- Derby x Gary headcanons because im OBSESSED WITH THEM… GOODMORNING! more yap! 😀 filled out a ship chart + some written headcanons below it !

Tried to keep a decent mix of sweet stuff and also the more serious stuff, but they’re just notttt a very healthy relationship unfortunately…

A little preface - Derby and Gary first began talking in chapter 2, with Gary’s intention being to manipulate Derby into trusting him and gain leverage over Jimmy. At first, Derby was not interested. But after Pinky left him for Jimmy, Derby was a bit easier to convince to be on Gary’s side.

@bullworthsheadboy filled this out with me <3

- Derby was the first to catch feelings, mostly as a result of Gary’s manipulation tactics. He feels stupid for “falling for it”.

- They are both incredibly stubborn and can’t stand to lose an argument

- Derby has his hands on Gary often, usually on his shoulder.

- They sit and talk shit about everyone else from a distance and sit and giggle and whisper.. they are scheming bastards together!!!

- Gary tries to act smart around Derby to impress him

- If Gary mentions he wants something, Derby will secretly buy it for him

- Whenever Gary speaks to the other preps, Derby will insert himself into the conversation so that Gary’s attention is on him.

- Gary has a habit of assuming the worst of Derby before anything even happens

- They are very slow-burn. Derby takes too long to open up and Gary finds it hard to trust him.

- They are not an “official” couple, they just have a mutual interest in one another that they refuse to fully acknowledge

- Gary likes drawing pictures of Derby but is too embarrassed to show him

- They could sit and talk/listen to one another for hours if they’re alone. Yappers.

- Derby often quietly asks Gary if his makeup/clothing looks ok

- Derby fishes for compliments all the time

- They often argue about the nature of their relationship: Derby claims it can’t last forever and must be short term, and that breaks Gary’s heart.

- Derby will neaten up Gary’s appearance if he notices something's wrong, like fixing his shirt collar or hair.

- Derby says a lot of bad things in the heat of the moment. He’s terrible at apologizing for that, which only makes Gary more upset and Derby more angry as a result.

- They are both very bad at communicating their feelings. They both heavily mask and are unsure if they even know the “real” version of one another.

- Derby thinks Gary should toughen up, while Gary thinks Derby needs to loosen up

- They’re super back and forth. “I hate you” one night and “I’ll never hurt you again!” the next.

- They, unfortunately, enable a lot of each other’s harmful behaviors/mindsets

- Gary is one of the VERY few people Derby allows into his room.

- Gary enjoys doing Derby’s dirty work, he feels like they are truly a team rather than just being a pawn.

- Derby sees Gary as an equal, which is something he doesn’t consider most people..

- Derby can be a jerk, but he is a gentleman. He’ll hold the door open, offer his coat, and do all the gentlemanly things for Gary - Even if he’s mad at him.

- Their relationship is almost entirely behind closed doors

- Derby wishes Gary would let him do his makeup, just once
