“””public defender””” is the loosest term for what W actually does. He is in no way qualified to practice law or give legal advice. But as it often goes, Swindle knows a guy who knew a guy etc. Is W an unsavory character? Not necessarily. Ons needs a lawyer to clear up some legal issues that begin with “smokescreen” and end with “no one will take my case.” I can’t disclose any more or i’ll risk giving away the best arc of the entire fic.
