I love it when my creativity spurs other creativity. literally no better feeling as an artist than when someone looks at something you’ve made and goes “I saw this and liked it so much I could do nothing more with myself than turn it into drive for my own creativity” like that’s really what creativity is huh!! an instrument to further human expression and community and connection
can someone hire me as a lighthouse keeper. my grip on reality is soooo stable and i will behave so normally under conditions of extreme isolation. and i promise i wont try to fuck the light
I’ve been saying this for years 😭
Yup.
Eating disorders are underdiagnosed in men; I have believed this to be true for some time. When I was in Krav Maga the guys around me would casually talk about restricting to like 20% of the calories someone their size should be eating and genuinely wouldn’t realize it was fucked up.
Trans men have been trying to tell y'all but none of you give a shit about marginalized men.
I’ve had to tell my gym-bro coworkers that as a recovering anorexic I don’t want to listen to them fucking talk about their eating disorders. they laugh, but I’m absolutely not joking.
You ever see the talk that goes on with high school wrestling? It’s insane. There’s also muscle dysmorphia, which is a form of body dysmorphia/eating disorder that almost never occurs in women and is prevalent in gym bros.
I’ve personally met several middle aged men that jump between fad diets constantly and concern me greatly. These health nut old guys who regularly go on “juice cleanses” and jog themselves to exhaustion concern me.
Probably part of it is also that when someone gets sick or dies from starving themselves, that‘s something the medical industry and society can sort of recognize. When someone engages in extremely unhealthy behaviors all with the goal of becoming as jacked as possible, and then that person has a heart attack, we don’t think of that as someone who dies of an eating disorder.
yesterday, tumblr totally deleted the account of a prominent trans girl on this website because she was posting safe for work transition timeline photos. this is supposedly "the queerest place on the internet" but i haven't seen anybody but trans girls talking about this. why does nobody else give a fuck?
“You worship so many deities how do you keep up with them all?”
Yes, that is kind of the point of polytheism.
Polytheistic worship includes a massive web of Gods who are all connected in some way or another, their domains overlapping as they work together.
You are just one person so you only have so much time and energy, of course you would worship one Deity who is linked heavily to your journey more than others.
You dont have to be every Deity’s devotee, just like you dont have to be everyones best friend. Sometimes you worship for a specific time, purpose or to bond with a loved one who worships that Deity.
Like I said in my previous post, the Gods will not get angry or clingy if you dont pay attention to them, they existed and have been worshipped way before you were born and way after you are dead.
If you devote yourself to a deity, dont be afraid to acknowledge their family, in fact they will encourage it.
Solid fucking point
Said this to my wife and she pulled out our vase with an octopus on it. She got me.
I love you folk music I love you drinking songs I love you sea shanties I love you work songs I love you lullabies that have helped send countless generations of children off to sleep I love you music the poor and non-white and oppressed used to fill their difficult lives with joy I love you protest songs and coded music that helped people escape to freedom and connect with each other and keep their cultures and languages alive I fucking love you "this machine kills fascists" I love you banjos and bagpipes and all those other instruments people love to hate I love you modern artists keeping these songs alive and writing new ones I love you people writing new folk songs for fictional worlds because even people who don't exist deserve to connect through song I love you queer artists finding themselves in ancient songs I love so so so much
