Guys I fear Stanford Pines is a total redditor.
He has an extensive and very well written saga of posts on AITA which have been compiled on Best Of Redditor Updates and read on reddit podcasts. He has been known to go into various scientific and paranormal subreddits to argue, and you'd better watch your grammar because he will absolutely pull out the *you're strat if he's losing. He has been banned from many of these subreddits so heās started several of his own. Mods on the other subreddits warn users about his, but much to their chagrin they are actually fairly popular. He cannot get banned from these subreddits because he owns them. There is some debate about whether his account is satiricalā he takes great offense to this. There is a video on YouTube called "u/DrPines_6: A Scientific Pillar's Bizarre Reddit History" that is 2 hours long and has 1 million views.

People forget that my man LITERALLY STARTED A CULT. He (allegedly) WIPED FORDS MEMORY. on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.
Fiddleford isnt a misunderstood (Nintendo) Luigi -esk character. Heās a (now tramatized) Grown man. Heās responsible for him own actions and he isnāt just āAnother Victim of Fordās Narcissismā.
Fiddleford had a wife and kid at home. Both of whom he left at the drop of a hat when the opportunity came.
TLDR; Please hold Fiddleford accountable for all that he did while in Gravity Falls.

IT'S CALLED AN ARC. HE IS NOT A STATIC CHARACTER AND I'M BEGGING Y'ALL TO UNDERSTAND THIS.
In journal 3 the WHOLE ENTIRE POINT of his character is that he's a kind of a meek pushover who can't stand up for himself and follows Ford's lead against his better judgement! He's a damsel in distress TWO SEPARATE TIMES! The whole tragedy of his character is that he was this very normal dude who was consumed and corrupted by madness! THAT'S THE POINT! OF HIS CHARACTER!
And nobody better accuse me of trying to woobify him or absolve him of wrongdoing. Multiple things can be true at once HE'S A COMPLEX AND GREY CHARACTER THEY ALL ARE!!!
Anyway hot take i just don't think the correct answer to the (perceived) erasure of one half of his canon characterization is to instead erase the other half
