WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?
"Flowers! And chocolate! And that pretty treehouse!"..."Actually, a lot of things."
Hey! Another Pichu! Awesome! Wanna go on an adventure?!
Graci turned on the spot from where she’d been picking flowers for her shop, to stare at a younger Pichu. At the word adventure, she nodded her head excitedly, but was very close to rejecting it as she was trying to act more like her age.“Sounds like fun!” She brushed a paw over her ear. “Where do’ya wanna go?”
ooc; mun intro
Hi there! So, in case you haven't noticed, I'm going to rp our lovely little Spiky Eared Pichu, Graci. This blog used to be a Riley blog, and I don't want to delete the stuff on here, so I hope you all understand and I hope we all get to RP together!

Sun Shy || Riley & Touko
"A nice guy?" He let out a slight laughter. "I don’t know about that." About to open his mouth to simply say a goodbye while tapping his foot and looking around, the sounds of children laughing and running toward the ice cream truck seemed to cheer up the brunette beside him, but he wasn’t prepared to be tugged down the path. Trying to keep on the same pace as Touko, Riley resisted laughing at how surprisingly childish she was behaving over a bit of ice cream. Reaching the crowd of children, he pulled out his wallet and looked over at Touko with a smile.
"I’ll pay for it. The least I can do."
Still holding Riley’s sleeve, Touko screeched to a halt just before colliding into several children. After hearing Riley’s offer she gave a huge open-mouthed grin.
"You’ll pay?! Aw, thanks a bunch!" Immediately she started perusing the menu, giving it even more thought than she had earlier that day. "Hmm… Should I get another Pika-popsicle? Or maybe a Castelia Cone… We are in Castelia City after all…”
She turned back to Riley. “You should get something, too! It must be hot in that hat and jacket. Gotta stay cool somehow!”
"Ah.. no, I'm absolutely fine." He smiled, although he was already pulling money out of his wallet for the both. "Alright, so what do you want me to buy you?" While Riley stared at the menu himself, trying to decide on an ice cream, making up his mind and he turned back to Touko. "I'll just get one of the watermelon shaped ones, but what do you want?" He lifted his other arm as if to signal for her to let go of his arm and blazer, but ultimately just dropped his arm back to his side, and shuffled up the line once it began moving again. Reaching the front, Riley stared at Touko as if he expected her to do the ordering, handing her his money and making a hand motion toward the truck.
Sun Shy || Riley & Touko
"All around the world?" He echoed softly, before placing a hand over his mouth and chuckling. "Quite the dream, you have there Miss-..Touko." Riley could really never do something like that. He admired Touko’s way of dreaming, while they were rather big, he was sure she could hit them.
"I’m sure you’ll reach that dream." A faint smile was etched on his face. Looking around the park,he was rather glad his hat was very low on his face, the suns rays bright and almost blinding, at least to him, considering Riley had spent most of his days in a dark cave.
He couldn’t see the ice cream truck, meaning they could’ve missed it. "I can’t see it.. can you?" He asked, scanning the area for the truck.
Hearing Riley regard her dream as an entirely attainable goal made Touko’s chest swell with pride. She grinned a wide grin, feeling her cheeks heat up with happiness and embarrassment at the same time. “Aw, gee, thanks! You’re a pretty nice guy, Riley!”
Her lower lip jutted out a bit, though, when it appeared that the ice cream truck was nowhere in sight. After waiting several moments, the ever-impatient Touko huffed a little sigh. “Well, it’s a pretty big city, so that truck could be anywhere by now. Well, sorry for wasting your time—”
Before she could continue, the familiar melody of the ice cream truck could be heard coming around the corner, and Touko turned to see a group of children already gathering around where the incoming truck would park. Like a child on Christmas, Touko grabbed onto Riley’s sleeve and all but yanked him down the path, eyes on the prize. “Man, mom was right when she told me that patience is a virtue! We’ve been rewarded!”

Iron Clad || Riley & Looker
Riley sighed as he leaned against a wall in the abandoned Iron Mines. While it was used for training, there was several areas not many knew about, where Riley would sit down and just read to himself, as it was a quiet and peaceful spot where nobody would bother him. The island in general was peaceful, and the only real bothers to it were the occasional criminal or two every so months, but those were rare and were caught quickly thanks to their stupidity on whether Iron Island was an easy target or not.
The sounds of something, or someone nearby had piqued his interest, although he kept quiet, not too bothered by it. While it was a surprise anyone had managed to navigate their way around this part of the mine. When he entered the mine from his smallish cottage near the docks, that he liked to keep it a secret he even owned a house, as it would upset him if people came around and discovered he wasn’t home and got bothered by it, the sun was just touching the water, but he had no idea what time it was now. Riley wasn’t honestly sure if he wanted to get up and check on what those footsteps were. But he did anyways, turning around the corner, trying to see just what it was. Taking a deep breath he called out, although it was barely louder than a normal person. “Um.. hello?”
To be honest, it was never even the slightest bit intelligent in anyway whatsoever to be conducting an investigation just as night began to fall—especially on some desolate, basically abandoned island. But, conducting this investigation was none other than the great Officer Looker himself, meaning that all common logic that had nothing to do with sleuthing and/or serious puzzle piecing was, of course, thrown out the window.
…Or, in this case, the sea. The ocean water slushed and chopped as the boat pulled up slowly towards the dock. Gathering the last of his things, the detective was suddenly stopped by an older, portly looking gentleman, garbed in a navy blue uniform that made him almost blend in perfectly with the nighttime, “Agent, are you sure this is a good idea? Maybe you wanna just call this off ‘til—”
"No," the younger male interjected, clipping a communications device to his belt, paired with the empty clip of Pokeballs—the unfortunate usual at this point, "I am here to stop whatever shady activity is lurking within the mine, yes. I cannot wait. Criminals do not wait and I do not as well."
The older gentleman opened his mouth to speak, faulting when he noticed that Looker had already exited the boat and planted himself upon the rickety white dock. “Fine,” He threw his hands up, “Go alone! Just lookin’ out for you hotshots at Interpol! Listen, we’ll be back in an hour or so in case you end up findin’ anyone we need to take back, sound good?” Looker simply nodded. “Agent… Arceusspeed!”
The boat sped off into the darkness, the soft hum eventually dissipating off into nothing as Looker stood alone. The single click of a flashlight in his hands was enough to provide a sense of sight for the agent, observing his next move. “…There appears to be a path that leads upwards…” He muttered to himself, really.
Trekking the path, the soft cries of wild Pokemon and the rolling waves of the ocean offered his only companionship. Whoever was hiding here, away from detection, was honestly doing a rather impressive job, Looker had to admit. Then again, he wasn’t even inside the mine—that was, until a strange house had now caught his eye. It was… rather pristine considering being on an lonely island. Too obvious for a hideout, no…? Looker made an attempt to press further observation, walking up towards the window to see inside when a sudden voice caught his ear.
"…?" Looker blinked and immediately brought his flashlight up, following the rest of the path until his light shone in the face of another figure. They flinched, but made no attempt to run. The agent was quick to retract his device, taking a couple steps away from the building as he called out, "Yes? Is someone up there?"
—Merde, I must be more cautious! No doubt this is trick of the deception from some criminals, yes? Hm… I must remain vigilant!
Riley pulled his fedora lower down his face to shield his eyes from the bright light. Seeing the figure practically, or at least in Riley's case, pressed against the window of his little home, he pulled a face, but began to walk down toward the figure. "I am.. and may I ask what you're doing..?" Reaching for his belt and unclipping the Pokeball of his Lucario, Riley prepared himself for whatever this older man wanted from him.
Just this mans behaviour was suspicious, and if he was here to do anything in some sort of criminal act, surely he just wouldn't do it in such plain sight. Keeping the Pokeball hidden within his pocket, he made sure his own acts didn't look suspicious. Looking back to the mine, Riley considered just turning around and going back in, pretending like he never saw a thing, but there wasn't much of a doubt in his mind he couldn't get out of this one.

Lost in Who Knows Where || Riley & Roark
"Terrible." Riley stated rather bluntly, before adding on. "Or just.. the way it’s always looked I suppose."
Shrugging slightly, he wasn’t able to put words to how he thought Roark looked. Riley had a large vocabulary, but most of his words were for completely different purposes, not for social gathering. Riley didn’t take much care for his appearance, especially while he was on Iron Island. Sure, he did the usual things for hygiene but he didn’t care much for anything else like his hair, as of such it grew out rather messy.
"Yes.. those are caves.. They have walls, and you can map them out in your mind. This is a forest.. There is gross bugs and so many trees and you can never really map it out because there’s always an area someone doesn’t know about or someone can get lost because it always looks the exact same." He groaned, before following Roark along slowly, calculating the probability that the older male would get them lost. Looking around, Riley could’ve sworn they’d been here before. "Hey.. Roark.. does this place look the same to you..? It’s possible that I had walked this way before but I’m not sure.."
"At least in a forest you have landmarks. That tree—" (pointing to a gnarled and twisted oak) "—is different to that one—" (gesturing to the thin white trunk of a birch, further off in the distance) "—and in caves all you get is just rocks. Well, I mean, there’s no such thing as just rocks,” he corrected himself hastily, more for the sake of his own rock fanaticism than any chance of somehow offending Riley. Now that the other man mentioned it, though… It really was all starting to look the same.
Roark slowed to a stop, looking about them with brows furrowed. “No, I’m pretty sure this is… different… um.” Nope. Nope, it was exactly the same place they’d just walked through. He could even see the clear trail of prints where they’d flattened the grass underfoot. Okay, maybe him taking the lead was a mistake. Caves might be mazelike, and he might be an expert at those, but at least caves had a definite beginning and end instead of just… trees.
He really could not wait to get back to Oreburgh.
Seeming troubled, Roark took a step back, indicating for Riley to take the lead. “Okay, I’ve had a turn, you try now,” he declared, electing to forget that Riley was the one who had got himself lost in the first place. Surely he couldn’t do any worse than they had so far.
"Roark.. you've been leading me in circles.." Riley tried to express anger, but he ended up sounding like a rather innocent child. The grass, trees, bushes, everything was the exact same as where they met up. This was confusing. And giving Riley a headache. Going home wouldn't be such a bad thing right about now. He pinched the bridge of his nose, the headache making him feel ten times worse than if he didn't have it.
"You're the older one." Riley glared at Roark, moving back behind the redhead. "Don't give me that 'you're the taller one' thing either." He mumbled, looking away. I'm not even taller by that much.. Heck, only a few years ago and I was a shrimp compared to Roark. Pushing on Roark's back, he continued to insist Roark lead the way, not wanting to stay in this place much longer. He could just hear the bugs.
Sun Shy || Riley & Touko
"The park, huh.." Figures. Ice cream trucks were always in areas that children were. He couldn’t remember if ice cream trucks even operated in Canalave, although he knew they did in Jubilife. Finally feeling the weight leave his wrist, Riley shook it just to make sure he could still feel his wrist before placing his hands in his pockets. "Ah.. you don’t have to call me Mr.. I feel older than I normally do now." He chuckled slightly before continuing. "Mm.. I was loosing time where I was. Oh.. and my clothes.. They’re not really in style in Sinnoh, either. At least I think so. But I’m from a city in Sinnoh.." Riley felt like his answer was still a bit vague, and began to think that he should change it fast. "Um.. I mean I’m from the Sinnoh region.. and I came here just to… explore I suppose. See new things."
Touko gave a grin. “Alright then, Riley!” she said, dropping the ‘Mr.’ as per his request, “And I didn’t mean anything about your clothes. They’re just pretty unusual! But I think you look pretty sharp.”
She continued along as she listened to Riley’s story. “Oh wow, you’re all the way from Sinnoh? That’s awesome! I’m an Unova native, but from a much smaller town called Nuvema.” A pause. “Exploring is great! I want to travel alllll over the world.”
After several more blocks, the two finally made it to the park; the fountain bubbled cheerfully in the center and children and Pokemon played in the shade. Touko shielded her eyes from the sun and began scanning the area. “Alright…now let’s find that ice cream truck!”
"All around the world?" He echoed softly, before placing a hand over his mouth and chuckling. "Quite the dream, you have there Miss-..Touko." Riley could really never do something like that. He admired Touko's way of dreaming, while they were rather big, he was sure she could hit them.

Lost in Who Knows Where || Riley & Roark
Riley forced himself not to swear in surprise at seeing someone, a good friend- until Roark’s father decided to create the whole Gym leader problem, however a rather genuine smile formed on his face after watching Roark nearly poke his eye out.
"It has been a while, hasn’t it, Roark," Riley said with his usual tone, although he wanted to sound happier to see the old friend. "You certainly look different. What are you missing.. Perhaps you got a new haircut?" While his voice was completely void of a joking tone, it was easy to tell he was joking. Looking around himself, he sighed as Roark’s voice trailed off, giving off warning signs in Riley’s head that they were both equally lost. "Yes.. ‘You’ll figure it out’, alright, supervisor, lead the way..” He waved his hands in a sign to begin moving.
He couldn’t suppress a bit of a huff at the lack of excitement or really any positive emotion in Riley’s tone, though in a way that was good—it meant that he hadn’t changed much from the Riley he knew as a boy. His memory of all the time they’d spent together still held up well enough for Roark to read the other’s ‘true emotions’, so to speak, or at least the ones he was unable to express particularly well.
The Gym Leader laughed, tossing his head dramatically so the little ponytail bounced. “You think? I’ve actually been growing it out, how’s it look?” As it happened, he actually had, though not intentionally; any appointments he booked with the hairdresser were mysteriously canceled or he simply forgot and worked through the allotted time (nobody could ever cut it how he liked it, anyway).
Roark’s grin didn’t falter at Riley’s evident lack of faith in his navigation. “Come on, how hard can it be? I’ve found my way out of caves worse than this.” Not that the two were anything alike. Or that the miner ever set foot in a forest. Nah, they’d be fine. If need be he’d just send his Archeops out to help navigate. “This way—!” And he set off in the direction he was pretty sure he’d come from, glancing back every couple of steps to make sure Riley was following.
"Terrible." Riley stated rather bluntly, before adding on. "Or just.. the way it's always looked I suppose." Shrugging slightly, he wasn't able to put words to how he thought Roark looked. Sun Shy || Riley & Touko
"Sure.." Riley murmured softly, raising an eyebrow at this girls energy. Where did she get it from? Grunting as she practically slapped him on the back, or at least, it felt like it, he pulled himself up to a much cleaner posture.
"Hunt the ice cream truck.. Sounds easy enough.." He stared down at this girl and sighed. ’I’m not to pleased with doing something that I haven’t done in at least 12-13 years, but it might be fun.’ Feeling her fingers grasp at his wrist, Riley nodded and pulled a smile. A smile that was fake, but a smile nonetheless. "Riley. A pleasure to meet you." His introduction was short, but polite. Hopping on one leg slightly to have to catch up, he tried to match her pace as well as he could, although she was walking a bit fast for his taste. "So do you have any ideas on where it could be..?" He asked nonchalantly, his eyes on the pavement ahead.
"Nice to meet ya, Riley!" Touko said, still zooming straight ahead. From his reluctant pace, she could guess that this probably wasn’t the first thing he wanted to be doing on a hot city day and felt perhaps a bit guilty. But once the fireball trainer got the ball rolling, it was impossible for her to stop even for a second.
She thought for a few moments after Riley’s question. “Well, seeing as it’s about midday on a weekend, I’m gonna guess the ice cream truck is headed for the park! Gotta make sure those kids cool off.”
Touko decided that she would at least let go of Riley’s wrist - the poor guy was practically being dragged along. She slowed her pace slightly to match his and looked up at him, having to crane her neck slightly to meet the taller man’s gaze.
"So what brings you to Castelia City, Mr. Riley? You don’t really seem like you’re from around here. Never seen anyone wear clothes like that."
"The park, huh.." Figures. Ice cream trucks were always in areas that children were. He couldn't remember if ice cream trucks even operated in Canalave, although he knew they did in Jubilife. Finally feeling the weight leave his wrist, Riley shook it just to make sure he could still feel his wrist before placing his hands in his pockets. "Ah.. you don't have to call me Mr.. Second Meetings [Riley+Dawn]
"Lucario! What are you doing- Ah." Riley had been walking towards his Lucario, who had run off on him for some stupid reason, as usual, but noticing that his partner had approached someone and was actually behaving like he knew them surprised him.
Looking toward this girl, she was shorter than he was by quite a bit, yet he was almost certain he recognised her face. "Your name is..?" He asked softly, while walking behind his Lucario, whom was still staring at Dawn with rather analysing eyes. "I mean.. I know who you are.. but.. I don’t remember your name.." The crunching of gravel under his feet as Riley moved a bit closer to hold out a hand, giving a very slight smile. "It’s.. good to see you again. Lucario must think so soon, I’m not sure how you found him though.. Must’ve been quite a coincidence, but a good coincidence regardless."
The footsteps came to a stop and instead, she was met with a familiar pair of blue eyes. Tilting her head back, Dawn gazed up at Riley curiously, as if she was studying every detail he presented.
There was no mistaking it; he was definitely the same Trainer she met previously on her journey. Offering Lucario a warm smile, she shifted her gaze to Riley again and stepped forward to grasp his hand in hers. She gently shook it, then let her hand fall back to her side.
"My name is Dawn," she said. "We met awhile ago, back when Team Galactic was causing problems in the mines here. I haven’t been here since, but everything looks the same."
"It’s nice to see you and Lucario again, too. Your name’s Riley, isn’t it? I remember now after seeing your face," she continued with a light laugh. "I came here to train, but I was hoping I’d run into you again. I never got to thank you for helping me back then. How have you two been?"
"Dawn.." Riley pushed a finger lightly against his lower lip as if he was searching his memory for the name. "That's it. I remember it now. It has been awhile, hasn't it." The memory of the younger girl was bright in his mind after having remembering it, and the Galactic members that agitated the Pokémon in the area. Sighing, he looked around at the surroundings, some islanders going about their days and the Pokémon behaving a lot less restless as they were when she was last here. "The island looks the same, but everyone here changed a bit. I suppose for the good." A slight chuckle escaped his mouth as he turned back to Dawn. "Yes, my name is Riley. At least you were able to match a face with a name. I'm not good at that."
"Why would you hope to run into me? I'm not that important. But I'm glad you chose this place to train. It a nice place to train if you have too much time on your hands." Riley thought about how he was doing. "I suppose I lost track of time for a bit, so I've been leaving the island a lot more recently, but I usually only ever go as far as Jubilife. What about you? How have you been?" Lucario grunted in agreement to his trainer, however it seemed more focused on the gravel on the ground then whatever the human's were chatting about.
OOC UPDATE ON THE BLOG
Lost in Who Knows Where || Riley & Roark
Riley had been practically forced outside that cave on his favourite place on the planet by his favourite person on the planet, his father. Always insisting that he should go explore different places and different regions, always pushy, but loving. Sighing, he leaned against a tree in Arceus knows where. He didn’t bring a bag along, thinking he’d only be out for a short trip, but ended up being attacked by a lot of Pokémon. A lot. He hadn’t even brought healing items along! He glanced at his Lucario, who’d seemed to have not taken much damage and let out another sigh. Riley pushed himself off the tree after contemplating to himself, and began to walk ahead, hoping to get out of this awful maze of a forest. Brushing against someones shoulder, activated his habit of apologising for just about everything, and he turned toward the person he ‘bumped’ into.
"Sorry about that.." Riley always had a whispery tone to his voice, so he wasn’t sure whether he said that loud enough. Did he? "Um.. I’m Riley, it’s a pleasure to meet you.. I’m sorta.. lost." Admitting it in his thoughts was hard enough, saying it out loud to a stranger was on a completely different scale in Riley’s books.
It would be just Roark’s luck that the one time he took his glasses off to clean them while walking he collided with someone else. Really, he should have sat down somewhere to do it, or at least not taken the risk of moving while his range of vision was limited to about three inches in front of him, but as they say, hindsight is 20/20. At least it wasn’t an angry pokemon. You couldn’t really apologise to a charging Tauros.
"Riley, huh? Sorry, I’m… Wait, Riley?" The young man almost poked his eye out with one of the arms in his rush to put his glasses back in, eager to get a proper look at the man he hadn’t seen in—oh, forever. (Probably for a good reason, considering the whole Gym Leader debacle back in the day, but that was behind them and really he only blamed Byron for that.)
In any case, it was no wonder Riley hadn’t recognised Roark. The miner had forgone his usual work gear in favour of something more practical for trekking through a forest. He wasn’t even wearing his hardhat for once, and considering he sometimes slept cuddled up with it, that was saying something. Add to that his hair pulled up in a ponytail and the surprising lack of decorating his features and he was practically a whole new man.
"If you’re lost you could just tag along with me," he suggested. "I was gonna head further in but I don’t mind escorting you… out…" His voice trailed off as he looked around, trying to take stock of their surroundings. The trees didn’t look as familiar as he’d hoped, but… A grin spread across his face despite himself as he lifted his shoulders in a shrug. "No problem! I’ll figure it out, I’m sure!"
Riley forced himself not to swear in surprise at seeing someone, a good friend- until Roark's father decided to create the whole Gym leader problem, however a rather genuine smile formed on his face after watching Roark nearly poke his eye out.

Lost in Who Knows Where || Riley & Barry
Riley had been practically forced outside that cave on his favourite place on the planet by his favourite person on the planet, his father. Always insisting that he should go explore different places and different regions, always pushy, but...
"Barry." He answered in a brightened up tone
"Nice to meet you Barry." Riley smiled at this blonde. "So.. do you know where we are..?" Looking around, it was a green forest, and a rather pretty one at that. You could just see Pokémon in bushes and treetops, roaming quite happily.
