Change Club Can ghosts change? That’s the question that’s haunting Button House this December. Watching Alison and Mike become parents makes the ghosts reflect on the unchangingness of their own existence. Pat suggests a new club: each ghost chooses something to change in their afterlife and works on it until the end of the year. There might be more to the Captain’s and Pat’s projects than it seems at first… The demanding challenge throws Button House into chaos, and it’s going to take a Christmas miracle to make everyone’s wishes come true.

personally, i'm still in denial about the last episode ever coming so soon (and a little scared of what it might bring), so i've written a sweet and Christmassy patcap thing with a very hopeful ending for all the ghosts just to cheer myself up while we're waiting for the Christmas special!

can i just savour the fact that their last interaction of the show (and pretty much the last interaction between any two ghosts in the main group) was the Captain looking up at Pat with a proud grin after his first successful silly baby talk (that Pat had taught him) and Pat smiling and nodding. i love my dads so much

honestly i think it would be a better ending if it was slowly foreshadowed and prepared for over the course of the last season instead of tacked on at the end bc it feels so jarring after the last ep of s5. its like "alison you shouldn't go and here's why" and then the next episode its "no actually you should go"

#literally this #it would have been better if there had been a whole series of building up towards that #all the different little thing piling up #alison and mike coming to that decision slowly and organically #it could’ve worked. while still heartbreaking it would’ve looked more natural and convincing #but what actually happened felt like. a raw pancake falling on the floor. with an unpleasant sound #(i dunno. i am a little bit distraught rn)#ghosts #bbc ghosts spoilers

i’m sorry but it just doesn’t make sense how easily Alison and Mike decide to leave when the ghosts suggest it. what was the deal with the whole previous episode then. all the doubts. the pain of that decision. what was the deal with the whole SHOW then. they didn’t even pester her any more than in any other ep - just the normal amount. there were no shocking revelations - and even when Alison found out about Julian, she still decided to stay. and now, out of nowhere, pretty much immediately, she’s like, oh cool thanks bye bye then. we’re family so we’re staying, we’re family so we’re leaving - god my brain hurts
