Astro stares at Dandy...or rather, at the comically large laundry basket currently imprisoning him-

"...What was it this time..?"

"One of those voices was being a menace. I can't get my claws under the edge of the basket..."

Astro sighs, nodding.

"Of course...the 'anonymous' can be quite the nuisance, can't they..?"

Blue sparks dance around his eyes, a similarly-colored light coalescing around the basket and lifting it into the air.

"Mhm. Sometimes they're nicer, some of them watered me... and then I had to spend 15 minutes explaining hybrids and variants to them, they don't seem to know much."

"Really..? Perhaps we should direct them to one of the Rodgers, then...maybe it'd get them off your...back.."

Astro claps a hand over his mouth, cringing slightly.

"I don't think theres any Rodgers readily available for folks to ask questions to."

His petals had folded down slightly at the wording, but he leaned over to be slightly more down to Astro's height once again, "It's fine, it's a common phrase. It doesn't hurt as much as it normally does anyway." That was a lie, but he was trying to make them feel better about slipping up.

"...Please, don't lie to me. You and I both know it's useless.."

Astro cups the flower's cheek when he leans down, gently rubbing circles on Dandy's face with his thumb.

"You haven't been resting, have you..? You look tired.."

"But I don't like when you get upset about silly things like poor word choice; many of the others have said much worse than just accidentally bringing up my back."

The eye on that side shut as he leaned into the touch, "No, it's hard to find time to sleep nowadays. toons are always on runs, we have 3 elevators, I can't just close one of them, folks would get more upset than they already are."

"Dandy."

Astro's voice hardens slightly, another hand coming up to rub the other side of Dandy's face.

"You need to let yourself rest, you know that. I'll handle the others...it's the least I can do."

He...isn't going to take 'no' for an answer, is he? He's really changed, after the place shut down. I guess everyone has..

"Alright.. I'm just worried about how bad everything could go if I sleep or leave my things unattended."

"I know, I know...it'll be alright, I promise. I could watch over everything for you, if you'd like..?"

"That'd be nice... if anyone bothers you, do tell me, I know you're much more liked than I am, but that's still my stuff." He nuzzled into their hands just a bit.

"...Of course."

Yeah, no, he's lying </3

"I doubt they'll bother me, though...not if they want halfway-decent dreams for the rest of the month, that is.."

Astro lets out a quiet chuckle. Whether it's at Dandy's catlike behaviors or the idea of giving people nightmares, I have no idea.

They made a huffing sound that sounded suspiciously like a tired snicker, before completely leaning onto him like the oversized cat they are, "How's that been going as a method to keep people from bothering you?"

"Quite well, really. I have no idea why I'd never tried it before.."

"That's nice, hopefully it's enough of a deterrent to keep my stuff safe, I'm not holding my breath on it though." Not that he doesn't trust Astro will try, it's more the fact that sometimes folks will go out of their way to do something regardless of being told no.

They plopped down on the couch in the corner of the shop and just curled up as much as they could without the layer of ichor ripping.
