Random fun(?) facts,
1. I’m currently trying to learn German—mainly to just say I’m trilingual for fun but also bcus I think it’d be nice to even though I’ll probably never use it…
2. I’ve seen heathers in nyc off broadway twice w/most of the original cast/understudies/replacements/new people. I first went in June during previews (before I knew what previews were…yes, I was on the plane going back home, already asking my mother to go again.) w/kiara as my hd and lav in the ensemble as drama club drama queen. The second time I saw it was more recently on December 23rd, I got to see Jodie as my hc!!! (which I was so excited about, I was literally gagged when the Heathers entered the stage cus I genuinely couldn’t believe I was seeing JODIE STEELE right infront of me. I also kinda forgot to breathe during her candy store riff. I love her, she’s amazing.) Jackera as my hd (AND LEMME TELL YOU, SHE IS SO GOOD. I LOVE HER SM. SHE’S MAGNIFICENT.) and Kuhoo as my Veronica. Kuhoo is everything. She is perfection. She’s everything you could want in a Veronica and more. It’s so much more teenager-y than compared to lorna’s take on Ronnie (though, I love them both equally.) and kuhoo’s voice is extraordinary. I had only seen a short clip of her singing prior to seeing heathers and when she started seeing seventeen (or I think it was I say no, my memory is rusty) I genuinely remember thinking “oh my god, I knew her voice was good, but oh my.” I was starstruck. She’s a powerhouse. I also met them + Casey, Elizabeth, syd, & Xavier at stage door and can confirm they’re sweethearts, all of them.
Also, taking a moment to appreciate Casey’s j.d. Saw it in June, loved it. Saw it in December, terrified. He has grown into the role so much and it’s actually crazy how scary and unhinged he is during mtby; I was frightened even though I was in the comfort of my seat in the audience. 😭🙏 Also, I just love everyone in this cast and it would take forever to explain how much I love everyone’s take on every character (ensemble & principal roles) so, if you really want a rant like that I’d recommend my TikTok cause I posted there after seeing it the few times and went on in the caption + my insta posts.
3. #1 heathers west end defender bcus ppl shit on it too much, and I genuinely love the adaptations/changed they made. I recognize its flaws, but it’s stuck a step up from the original 2014 off bway version. Change isn’t always bad. Heather Duke deserved her song, I say no is relevant and movie Ronnie would love it, your welcome is more real. K thanks.
