It should be noted that a VFX artist provided more information in response to the tweet. However:
The details of why these scans were taken was not explained to any of the cast, when it only takes 5 minutes to explain.
Actors do not have any protection in their contracts as to how these scans will be used in the context of the show.
There is no protection as to what they may be used for in the future. A studio has these scans now. How can anyone guarantee what will and will not happen with them?
There may be legitimate reasons for these scans to occur, but it's dangerously close to the suggestion in the AMPTP rejected deal. In the future, there is going to be a fine line as to what technology/scans are necessary for the film or show, and what is overstepping.
