saw this post the other day that talked about how even if you do manage to have friends these days it often doesn't feel like you're living life with them. it's not always the case and there are exceptions but it can really feel like you just catch up with them once in a blue moon and basically just report what you've been doing to them and they do the same until the next time the stars align and you both have enough time and energy and money to do it again. we're not quite as integrated into each other's existences as much as we used to be
