When I was a kid I used to draw and make comics about an AU where the main Star Fox four were girls instead (because I loved Star Fox but wanted more girl characters and didn’t know about the cancelled game) but I kept everyone the same so I accidentally made Katt and Falco a lesbian couple and that was my first introduction to homosexuality

In my mind, the human versions of Star Fox are a bunch of nerds and Chuds.They aren't typically handsome guys at all.

After all, they're a bunch of teenagers who live on junk food and don't seem to exercise much.

I don't think the bit about exercise is quite true, Fox and Slippy went to military academy and Falco was a street thug so they'd be a level of physically fit. Peppy's fat but he's old and it's prolly like. A muscle fat, if that makes sense

Outside of your AU, which Star Fox character do you think is the most likely to be queer?

As much as I'd like to think otherwise, common sense tells me everyone in this franchise is probably a 1 on the Kinsey scale. 😭

Maybe Leon, since he has kind of a kinky vibe, and Wolf, who seems so detached from romance that I could honestly see him being ace.

Like Command was hideously heterosexual, people point to Falco being alone as a sign he's gay but c'mon we all know it's the writers trying to make him look like the cool unattached nonchalant drifter-

But in canon, if we're talking the new game's version, I feel like we're gonna see a lack of romance entirely and more of the strength of their platonic relationships

Purely based on Katt's feelings being downplayed or downright erased in this version haha

While I normally don't mind seeing more platonic stuff (<- girl on the ace spectrum), I worry that it's part of the growing trend of Western media being afraid of romance stories. It feels like the backlash towards hackneyed romance tropes of the past has swung all the way around into treating romance as a lesser and invalid love instead of just a form that love can take

What if Wolf actually met Vixy Reinard, and ended up finding the doctor hot in a similar vain (being into attracted to capable people who are badasses that he wants to be topped by), and then he finds out SHE was married to James? (Just add another layer of feelings to project onto fox)

If each member of starfox was going to get "canceled" what would be the reason for each one? Bonus if you want to do star wolf (though they probably would get cancelled, especially Andrew and Pigma)

Fox would get cancelled for being used as CDF propaganda but he would have an equal amount of people defending him because he's publicly stated he doesn't always agree with the CDF's principles and he's not even part of the damn institution

Falco would get cancelled for being racist, people would endlessly debate if he got away with it because he genuinely didn't know or if he got away with it because he was conventionally attractive

Slippy would get cancelled via Google Docky over vtuber drama involving his role as a well-meaning but incompetent manager. This affected nothing in his real life.

Peppy would get cancelled for being old and ignorant and using terms that he didn't realize were considered offensive now like "midget" and "gypped". He'd give a heartfelt apology and most would forgive him because he's so Peepaw

Krystal would get cancelled by space stan Twitter for not knowing a popstar. This also affects nothing in her real life.

Fay would get cancelled for being from a rich family and get nepobaby accusations every month or so. Bringing up that she cut off that rich family to be a merc for a long time now does not settle any arguments

Miyu would get cancelled for being obnoxious on space instagram and she would double down on a livestream and get banned on space Twitch

I feel like Star Wolf would just be cancelled for the regular reasons that they're already outlaws. Wolf is a dick, Leon's a serial killer, Pigma is a slab of sewage, Andrew supports his fascist uncle, Panther is a creep, Algy is a maniac

Are there other sexual orientations besides Wolf and Miyu being bisexual and Algy being aroace and aromantic?

Here's how I'm writing everybody:

Fox is mostly straight. He gets a little gay when Bill is around, but ultimately he falls head over heels for Krystal.

Falco is demiromantic bisexual but he's unaware of it, he doesn't even know what the first label is. He realized he kinda liked Katt when it's too late, he's got a crush on Fox but he keeps brushing it off and reasons it away as weird intrusive thoughts, and he maybe might possibly have feelings for Fay? But he pushes the thoughts down before they form because he's all "nonchalant" and shit. I wrote it like that cause it's an interesting place to take his emotional constipation and also it's funny as hell

Slippy's into women and is a huge ally, but he doesn't call himself straight because who knows maybe he'll suddenly like a really cool guy or something. In the end, he marries Amanda.

Peppy is straight, he's got stories of what pride and allyship was like in the Olden Days. "You see, your father was bicurious, Fox"

Krystal doesn't label herself because to her it doesn't matter, what matters is that she loves someone and someone loves her, and that someone is Fox

Fay is demisexual panromantic but she's not interested in relationships at the moment, partly because her parents kept trying to set her up with other rich families and guys would approach her to get in on her family's fortune and so her view on relationships for herself is a little soured, partly she just wants to live a free life with no attachments for a while

Miyu bi as hell, preference for short sultry women and tall chubby guys, no interest in a full committed relationship because that's just not her style

Wolf also bi as hell, James McCloud was his awakening. James never knew

Leon is... something....

Pigma is homophobic and misogynistic and transphobic too. He can only get women by paying for them. He don't fuck with anyone and nobody fucks with him

Andrew is straight. He gets insanely worried about coming off like a homophobe. Miyu and Algy tease him by telling him certain things he said could come off judgmental, and they get amused watching him panic and try to explain himself

Panther is not straight but he is unaware of this. He goes after women and sees other men as obstacles but sometimes a man's charisma catches him off guard. Panther doesn't realize the attraction and just chalks it up to "Damn. I got outrizzed"

Algy is aroace and calls Miyu and Panther are "pervy degens" in that half-mocking half-affectionate way. His love is for his friends and family

Lucy's pan and has a husband. RIP ROB 64 your crush was in vain

Amanda is straight and has eyes only for Slippy. Especially for Slippy. Do not hurt Slippy or she will put you 12 feet underground. That's her man.

I've always believed (and it was supposedly a discarded idea) that Fay was Pepper's niece and/or even granddaughter, and that's why she was a member of Star Fox; maybe that will give you some ideas.

Was never a discarded idea, people just be pulling lore out of nothing a lot because the Star Fox lore is spread out over manuals and JP-exclusive side content. You'll encounter misinfo a lot, like how the Fandom wiki thinks Wolf was confirmed 27 once when he never was and the most we got of his age was Takaya Imamura saying he's from "Peppy's generation"

I already wrote Fay's story, I made her the niece of General Shears from the Farewell Beloved Falco manga and additionally from an old money family with ties to Space Dynamics (the company that made the Arwings) to explain how she knows how to fly one

She's a member of Star Fox because she escaped cushy aristocratic life to be free and do as she likes, I think it makes for a stronger character than having more people tied to the CDF

What is Algy's reaction when Andross is actually not dead and somehow became a self-proclaimed emperor? Now that I think about it, maybe the Oikonny family are pretty close with each other

nothing really, Algy's not related to Andross. He was a little worried if it'd get in the way of his inventing process I suppose haha

In my AU I'm going with the idea that Andrew is the son of Andross's sister, and "Oikonny" comes from Andrew's dad who is from a completely unrelated family. After all, Andross's direct descendant is named Bowman

Andrew and Algy are pretty close, despite Algy seeming not to care and the world conspiring to humiliate Andrew all the time. Algy doesn't take Andrew too seriously and describes him to other people as "my dumbass little cousin" but he means that with both mockery and affection.

Algy being aroace is actually really funny because he becomes Slippy’s rival. The Wife Guy of team starfox.

In fact, all the starfox rivalries have some funny contrasts.

Fay and Miyu: Rich kind hearted sheltered girl, vs street smart badass woman

Fox and Wolf: Daddy issues (but Wolf’s case it’s sexual)

Krystal and Panther: Attractive opposites (Krystal is kind and thinks personality matters, Panther doesn’t)

Falco and Leon: Attachments are weaknesses (but both are hypocrites, Falco learning and trying to change, Leon caring about wolf but denying he cares making

Peppy and Pigma: Loyalty vs traitor (also Dilf vs KIWF)

(Didn’t bother with Andrew? Because he sucks)

Slippy and Andrew: weak link of the team that everyone loves vs weak link of the team that everyone hates

I found out about Algy like four days ago and I am so happy to know this series has a small space grimlin-goblin monkey in it. It makes me very glad to know he is now in your AU

i like little goblin characters so i'm also very glad to be including him in the story
